Dear Forum,

Has anyone tried both of these to see which one works best? They both make similar claims, except the ECE has a longer half life in the body, so may work better? Does anyone know of any studies comparing them?

Thanks!

This is the first time I have ever heard of Ecklonia Cava extract.

I am researching it as we speak, for those who may also be unfamiliar with it, here are some links

http://www.springboa...s_ecklonia.html

http://www.allergyre...m_strontium.pdf

Wikipedia has interestingly very little on this: http://en.wikipedia....i/Ecklonia_cava

It's an algae, and the "science" behind it looks like typical supplement industry hype.

I am moving the topic into the supplements section where it can get more exposure.

This, on PubMed, looked fairly interesting though:

Differentiation of human osteosarcoma cells by isolated
phlorotannins is subtly linked to COX-2, iNOS, MMPs, and MAPK
signaling: implication for chronic articular disease.

I know that hair loss sufferers have been taking Ecklonia Cava for a while for its anti-androgenic action.. never heard a comparison made to resveratrol, though.

Same here. Have seen it on the hair loss boards for sometime now. And I believe it is part of ImmortalHair's 'top 6' or whatever it is called now.
