Description

Preface

I know I have so much to learn the more and more I browse these parts of the web. Nonetheless, I hope to get some feedback on my current regimen before I start refining it in the coming months.

My goals are quite simple and likely to be similar to that of many others: Longevity, health, anti-ageing. I'm a big fan of the approach taken by the writer of LiveLog where he attempts to address all seven areas of ageing as well as cycle telomerase. I also find his mention of "highly powerful" combintations interesting. I'll be taking a closer look at all of that relatively shortly.

Current Regimen

AOR Ortho Core:

Taken six times/daily. Two per meal.

Vitamin D3:

4,000IU

I take ann additional 4,000IU Vitamin D3 as I get no sunlight. I also read doses of about 5,000 IU were sufficient to bring most adults into clinically adequate levels. I need to get a blood test to confirm what I’m at now and adjust accordingly. I’ve just been a bit slack.

Fish Oil/Omega-3:

1.8 grams of EPA and DHA at a ratio of 528mg EPA to 372mg DHA.

—>Vitamin E:

    1 gram

At same time as I take the fish oil I take an additional 1 gram of vitamin E to prevent oxidation of the omega-3 fatty acids. (based on ratio of 0.6mg vitamin e for every gram of omega-3). I’m unsure if it’s necessary to make sure the vitamin e source contains alpha to delta tocopherols or if it’s fine to just be alpha tocopheral-based. Study: http://www.ncbi.nlm....pubmed/10804454

MitoQ:

10mg/daily (two pills)

C60oo:

1.5-2mg/daily

Thyro-HPA Forte:

- Tyosine 500mg

- Iodine (as potassium iodine) 149mcg

- Selenium (as selenomethionine) 75mcg

- Cholecalciferol (as vit D3 200 IU) 5mcg

- d-alpha Tocopheryl acid succinate (vit E 50IU) 42mcg

- Zinc (as amino acid chelate) 5mg

- Ascorbic Acid (vit C) 100mg

- Withania somnifera root 1.5g

- Rhodiola rosea root 200mg

Taken twice/daily, morning and night. Seems decent for its apargates, and it does seem to have lowered TSH. Concern however that I’m exceeding 150mg Selenium/daily from supplements.Total daily selenium intake from supplements is about 180mcg.

AOR Acta-Resveratrol:

I believe I should be taking a higher dose in the range of 250mg/daily. Ideally a supplement that is just resveratrol unless the other vitamins and herbs in this formula contribute to bio-availability and absorption. I'll look for one soon.

Curcumin-95:

400mg/daily

AOR Ortho Sleep: (this is a product I’m yet to try. I’ve taken melatonin pills before for sleep and find them quite ok. I’m interested to see the effects - if any - of using this product. I've read good things about melatonin)

Magnesium (citrate):

150mg

I seldom take this. I’m unaware of proper dosing for magnesium and instead use it as an aid for muscle soreness when I get DOMs from the gym. Have read here and there of forum members recommending high doses.

How do I edit this damn thing? I need to re-link the data for my supplements.

Here they are anyway:

The AOR Ortho sleep formula looks scary to me.

I've experienced all of them, only singly. Valerian, Passionflower, and Lemon Balm all have strong effects. The passionflower would make other things not break down as fast, lemon balm lowers thyroid.  Overkill, with a strong likelihood of negative synergies
