i found it very odd that 6-oxo came out with a new formula marketed as "extreme" and the only difference is that it contains 1200mg of resveratrol along with quercetin and piperine. link
I came across this link believe it or not by searching google for "resveratrol and whey" in light of some catch up reading i did today on this board. anyway i am wondering if anyone has any comments on this or if anyone is using this?

i would like to mention that i was previously taking 6-oxo and while i had no side effects, i didn't notice anything other than a better sleep (probably because i'm in my early/mid twenties). i might consider trying this again, but it is expensive. another alternative is buying everything seperately (which i also tried before), but my guess is that you have to take like 6 pills to get the 1200mg.

just want to add that it looks like it's 5 pills and it'll last 15 days, cheapest price is 35 bucks.

According to some (I think Biotest started this) T-Res reduces estrogen or acts as an estrogen antagonist...supposedly. Though I and some others on here have found articles that show that T-Res is actually an agonist under certain circumstances so I dont know. I took 6 oxo for a little while and it made me aggressive... Btw its cheap at bulknutrition they sell generic in bulk.

In one of PA's interviews from prison (maybe in MD), he mentions resveratrol being the exciting new product he was excited about. Apparently there was some in-house hormonal testing that seemed to favor resveratrol being included.

That said, why are you interested in 6-OXO?

He is probably interested in it from either a bodybuilding standpoint or from a hormone replacement standpoint. That is if you are taking testosterone replacement, pro hormones, tongkat ali, tribulus or even DHEA one might want to minimize the amount of testosterone that gets converted to estrogen or minimize the effects of estrogen or something along those lines.

In a magazine interview, P. Arnold said that resveratrol is an anti-aromatase, which prevents the conversion of testosterone to estrogen.
There are some studies that show resveratrol will bind to estrogen receptors, but weakly. There was one, I believe, that showed resveratrol bound to aromatase, thus preventing testosterone from doing so. In theory this would result in higher testosterone levels. None of this has been tested in humans.

Several years ago, in correspondence on usenet, I asked Mr. Arnold about this mechanism, in regard to another phytochemical. His opinion was that the body's homeostasis mechanisms would simply result in higher aromatase production, bringing testosterone levels back down to where they would have been without the supplement. He does recommend cycling 6-oxo, presumably before homeostasis adjusts to the supplement. It's good marketing.

Mr. Arnold has skirted the law in marketing non-testable steroids and near-steroids for a decade. He formulated and manufactured the designer steroid for BALCO. The courts interpreted the law such that any chemical with the steroid ring structure was an illegal steroid, and he went to jail for four months. I think he's been free for some time now.

I think they included resveratrol for the reasons people mentioned as well as because releasing an updated supplement with only one new ingredient- piperine (at 20g), which I assume to be the bread and butter of their new update- might not sell so well.

Also, I think I remember finding out that taking 6-oxo does not support a long-term boost in T and ends up actually having adverse effects due to feedback loops.

thanks, sorry for the late reply.

tell you the truth i tried taking the old 6-oxo by itself for 3 weeks and then another 3 weeks using the individual ingredients, while i was taking resveratrol anyay (albeit not much resveratrol, and i didn't know about the whole whey thing), and it definitely didn't do anything.. i wasn't taking any of the pro-hormone stuff other than that, but i suppose it would be a nice all in one type of deal if you were. just thought it was curious that they thought resveratrol was important enough in the mixture to make a new product. looks like the original price was ridiculous anyway.

5 capsules = 1200mg?
Less than 300mg a capsule... not very extreme at all in my book.

I guess I could say...
5 Capsules a serving of the X1000 = 5000mg!

Now that's a capsule!

:)
