Mutiny on the lifeboat

What would happen to the lifeboat is there would be a mutiny on it?

I think the community is watchful and strong. The mutiny would fail even without having a captain.

There may be disagreements as many people might have differing levels of conservatism and what exactly they would do to safegaurd humanity, against what they are safegaurding humanity and where they see humanity going. This is quite reasonable, but hopefully many of of the board members and members have similar ideas about the basic fundamentals they wish to preserve and uphold.

One thing I was wondering about is- safeguarding humanity-should that not be changed to something more futurist or transhumanist? As safeguarding humanity may imply one wishes to be very techno conservative rather than just preceding with caution and insight.
