It shouldn't cause depression and I have never seen anyone mention this with regards to resveratrol. How much are you taking and is it pure (98-99%) resveratrol?
Also, are you taking fish oil? It can improve mood among many other positive benefits.

Resveratrol (or the lack of) didn't make you depressed, there could be other factors at work that need to be dealt with.

What do we think of this:
http://linkinghub.el...006322305013661
"Increased serum levels of TNFα and other pro-inflammatory cytokines have been found in patients with major depression and several other psychiatric conditions"
and http://www3.intersci...l...=1&SRETRY=0
Enhancement of NF-κB activity by resveratrol in cytokine-exposed mesangial cells
What other supplements are you taking? Have you been sick lately or have any allergies?
Seems like the Resv is activating the p50 instead of the p53.

i started taking resveratrol a few weeks ago and i noticed i started feeling sad, i tought na it cant be the resveratrol it should have an antidepressant effect, i took it for a few weeks and was really depressed for the whole time
then i stopped taking it and bam back in my old mood thank god, the same day as i stop taking it
now 2 weeks later i take it again and again i'm feeling depressed
if your talking about personal issues or something thats impossible, i'm fine and my life is doing great! and i get the symptons the same time as i take resveratrol

is it possible i'm allergic to resveratrol??
i agree it could be something else in the supplements, i just dont knowit is unfair to blame your symptoms on it
only reporting that i got depressed when i take the supplement so i can get the issue revolved and expose the real cause

the first day i started taking resveratrol i really got this bad red "stuff" on my arm, like an allergic reaction or something but it went away

Try a different kind of resveratrol cap, one that has only resveratrol in it and not half a dozed other things, and one that uses 98 or 99% pure resveratrol, not the 50% extract.

I had to stop the 50% extract crap, the amodin wrecked havoc on me. Some side effects I'll spare you the details, but one of them was I felt extremely aggravated and easily pissed off all the time. All these subsided as soon as I stopped talking 50% extract.

Some people have a sensitivity to phenols. The rash is a definite reaction to phenol sensitivity. The depression might be related to the phenol sensitivity.

Most likely, the depression is caused by quercetin in your resveratrol pills.why does this happen? i stopped taking it and it went away, this is day 2 taking it again and i just feel like shit and depressed...
See below.

Role of alpha(2) Receptors in Quercetin-Induced Behavioral Despair in Mice. Kaur R, Chopra K, Singh D.
Division of Pharmacology, University Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Panjab University, Chandigarh, India.
Depression is a well-defined illness that afflicts a large population worldwide. Various biochemical theories have been described; however, the pathophysiology of depression is still poorly understood. The present study explores the role of a natural flavonoid, quercetin, in the forced swimming model of depression and its interaction with presynaptic alpha(2) adrenoceptors. Quercetin induced a significant behavioral despair, which was abrogated with pretreatment with yohimbine, an alpha(2) adrenoceptor antagonist, and imipramine, a tricyclic antidepressant. The results of the study support the contention that quercetin utilizes presynaptic alpha(2) adrenoceptors in eliciting its depressant activity in mice.
