For a guest suggestion, I would suggest Dr. Todd H. Rider, inventor of DRACOs, the potential broad-spectrum antiviral candidates. I know DRACO has been discussed on this site, and I don't believe he's ever been interviewed by LongeCity. There are ten days left in the current DRACO crowdfunding campaign. I'm sure many people have questions for him. I know I do. His cause can certainly use all the publicity it can get.

Here is the link to The Rider Institute:  https://riderinstitute.org/

Also, here is the link to the current crowdfunding campaign:

Thanks. Any thoughts?

I am on it! Waiting for a response.

Hi Mind. I have a question. It has been over half a year since you contacted Dr. Todd Rider. I was wondering if he responded, and if so, what his response was? I'm sure many others are also curious about this. If you could let us know, that would be great. Thanks!

Hi Mind...

I suggest an interview with Dr. Kevin Tracey, President of the Feinstein Institute. Dr. Tracey is the world's premier researcher about The Inflammatory Reflex (TIR), (aka, the Cholinergic Anti-Inflammatory Pathway).

A link to his profile page at the Feinstein Institute.

Although not formally identified as a Longevity Science Researcher, Dr. Tracey has lead or been part of hundreds of study teams focused on preventing disease and death and increasing survival probability. I suppose I am something of a Kevin Tracey groupie. My SMILE of Longevity Learning Logs concern his work and its relevance to our concerns at Longecity.

Asking questions of Dr Tracey about...

  • the survival curves from 3 studies shown below would be a useful start for an interview with Dr Tracey. (Links for the study images below can be found here.)
  • the anatomy, triggering, dosing schedules, etc. of TIR would be interesting too. (A key wiring diagrams is shown below.)

Hi Mind...

A follow up idea to the interview suggestion above...

As you may have noticed, I am a self-identified Kevin Tracey Science groupie, but I've never written or spoken to him. But I do know what questions to ask him that are relevant to our Healthy Longevity Science concerns.

  • How about I contact him to do an interview?
  • I prepare questions to ask him and submit those for your review and approval.
  • You and I interview him together. You lead and I'm on the line to ask interesting follow up questions based on his answers to our initial questions.
  • If you prefer, I'd also be willing to interview myself if you first get me up to speed on format, requirements, expectations, etc.

I'm happy to assist any way I can to make this interview happen.

:)

Great!

If / when a yes answer comes back from him, I'd be happy to prepare a set of questions about his work and how it relates to our concerns.

Yes. Please prepare some questions. Don't post them here though. We will start a discussion in the Interviews sub-forum once we have confirmation, and then you can post the questions there.

I saw a SENS interview with Aubrey from earlier this year where several lab advancements were discussed including a designer gene for a bacterial enzyme for 7 keto-cholesterol. I really want to know more about this kind of thing. I know SENS is still underfunded, but maybe we can interview some of the investors/donors who are sitting on the fence and see if we can't better understand them. Perhaps there are some individuals at outside organizations. I know at least one Alzheimer's foundation was interested in scientists from our community. I'd really like to hear more about what could be done to improve their desire to fund our mission, or perhaps we can find out which company was working on the enzyme GT and get an update from them or some of the people they've looked to for funding? We really need to solve this funding problem.

Part of what makes Longecity such a constructive and beneficial place is the contributions made by our knowledgeable members. So let's feature them on our podcasts!

Let us know who you would like featured in the comments below.

The interviews can be conducted in an anonymous fashion if desired, and the discussion topics will vary depending on each members background, experience, career, contributions, and area of interest/expertise.

Hi... If you got an interview with Kevin Tracey, he'd provide information that he's already spoken about in youtube videos.

I'm writing a book about The Inflammatory Reflex. Once it's done, or before, I'd be happy to talk about TIR and its relevance to the Longevity Science Movement. I'd also be happy to summarize the path that has led me to become a passionate longevity science research hobbyist, including around the recent thread I created about Heat Shock Protein.

Folks like Alex Zhavoronkov (from Insilico Medicine) who are doing AI and drug discovery

In general, folks who are working at the intersection of AI and longevity/aging/life extension research

Folks who are working on building simulations to attack aging and death.

I know these are generic, but I'll try to add specific names as I learn more.
