What do you all think about a Longevity Communities Network? I know a lot of us have been brainstorming on it for a while. There are some ideas that have been plotted out a bit.

One possible plot would go basically that we could add other organizations for indefinite life extension to the forums by giving them their own sections for them to link to from their web sites.

Another version could be that we could not put them in the forums but just create a front page that cleverly and aesthetically meshes them all together for us to also meme with.

Here is a link to one developing outline: http://imminst.org/w...unities_Network

I think that what we need though is a broad discussion on these concepts, and then to revise an outline on this from there.

We would basically work to convince groups like these to join us:

-Coalition to Extend Life spans, lobby site
-Campaign for Aging research, conservative site
-Longevity meme, news on the cause
-Accellerating Future, news on the cause
-SENS Foundation, an avenue of research,
-Methuselah Foundation,
-Singularity Institute, AGI with an indefinite life extension lean
-Novamente, AGI with an indefinite life extension lean
-H+
(more such web sites as suggested)

They could join us in the forum. Each one could have a section and the details could be worked out from there.

-We could then also find other longevity sites that dont have enough of a lean toward indefinity, convince them, then give them a section. This would allow us to meme to them, get their insight, and get their built in membership and viewer bases.

-I think we should also do this, try this, with a critical thinking/free thinking web site or two. It would add more critical thinkers to our mix, which is a great asset, and also allows us to meme to their built in crowds and member bases. I mean imagine, by giving a free forum space we could potentially add thousands of critical thinkers to the forums.

-We can then also create other another banner under which to run ImmInst functions. It could be syndicated with ImmInst, run by ImmInst, it would be the exact same as ImmInst, it could be with in the ImmInst section. The main names that I, and others, recommend are Indefinity Institute, ReinHelix, (an acronym of sorts for, "Requisite, or Research, for Indefinite Healthy Life Extension"), LEEEP, or some form of a random array of descriptive, accurate words like, "Unlimited Lifespans Foundation" or "Indefinite Life Extension Institute". Such a section doesnt have to be added though.

If we get did end up getting a bunch of these other organizations to have their own sections here, that they link to from a "forums" tab on their web pages, then we could call this network the "Longevity Communities Network". I forget who came up with that, but I suggest we go with that if we do to avoid a drawn out name discussion. Another alternative could be to have no name for this network. The point of this is to see if we can get all these organizations and people on one page and collaborate more and strengthen our forces.

All: see http://longecity.com/activetopics.php If several persons say that they are using it (like me, pretty much everyday) and what they would typically like in it, i will continue developping it.

The main idea of this is to see if we can get many communities to have sections in these forums here, that they can connect to from a forums tab on their pages.

Although a simpler version of that is like longecity.com. With that though, we would want to have a designer page made, meshing all the communities in some good aesthetic way, and then you could help link things up there as you have been at longecity.com. Atleast thats how it seems it would work best to me, I could be wrong. What do you think?

Agevivo already has a good site and a good/interesting name (Longecity), we could just develop that a bit more. Maybe we could use that as DBA name. Why re-invent the wheel? It is the easiest path for people who want to beat this dead horse again.

Well, a longecity front page for a Longevity Communities Network, or one like it is a good option in this Longevity Communities Network scheme. This wouldnt have to be a bunch of other communities using spots in the imminst forums, at least not right away. We could start it off, and maybe even permanently keep this addition as just another front page that links to all the communities. In that case the parties interested in this would want to focus on getting longecity a good aesthetically arranged page scheme.

Although, it occurs to me, along the lines of aiding concerns like yours Mind, that we could then maybe just make a "Longevity Communities Network" section with in imminst, rather than making all of imminst a longevity communities network. Then ask other organizations that are interested in participating in this to put something like, "Gold Members Forum" links on their pages, and then just use those portals to bring their leadership into same central discussions in that section in the imminst forum. This is because we dont really need their crowds, because places like cel and longevity meme dont really have crowds do they? They just have the same serious life extensionists that we do, we just want them on our same page with us in more discussions really.

The following is a discussion on one branch of this concept.

Discuss forum integration with SENS F http://www.imminst.o...o...c=32685&hl=

Im posting it for future reference. I say we should get started with it too cyberbrain. We just need a few more hands on deck and we get dig in to more things like these.

Im in discussion with the lady who runs the letsliveforever.net blog right now. Im hoping that we can strike a proposal that can be agreed upon by her and the board so that we can "syndicate" this blog in to the longevity communities network, longecity, lifespansociety type of thing. There are other leads Im following up on too. Ill report back here.
