There's already a life extension group in Belgium, France and The Nederlands called Heales. We meet in A La Mort Subite, a pub in Brussels.

http://www.heales.org/

Our achieved actions include:
* Various lectures by dr. de Grey
* Life Aid Against Aging (music festival)
* Creation of a peer review journal called HJB (work in progress)

And we are now working on a new promotion campaign.

There was a temporary problem. It happened a few times, we are working on this very annoying problem.

At the moment, the site is online again.

This is strictly a casual meeting space for technoprogressives, singularitarians, transhumanists, futurists, speculative idealists, technofetishitists, cry-enthusiasts, hackers, activists, utopianists, life extensionists - what - e - ver.

A (somewhat?) close associate of Aubrey myself, I welcome anyone who favors the life-extensionist ideals. Most meetings so far have been small, I am just there reading a book in case no one shows up. In the long run I'll slowly evolve it in another format.

Meeting here at 1900 (though we may decide to change the location, please keep tabs here!). I'll wait from 1900 till 20:30. The topic will again be "emerging technologies with a bite; low hanging apples to crowbar in change between 2012 and 2022, threats and opportunities".

Saturday 19 November

I will very likely be joining this team, but I don't really have a lot of time right now. I will let you guys know more in about 5 days.

I did not follow this to accurately, maybe this is already done, but I think we should team up with Heales. Not in the least because of the name of the venue that they are (or were?) meeting in.

I did intend to join a meeting in Den Haag some time ago, but that failed due to a busy schedule. Are the Heales people still meeting on a regular basis?

Name or Alias:
Tim Suetens, aka TimothyParadox or MentalParadox

Country and town:
Belgium, Wijnegem

What is the most miles you can travel to meet? (suggest 50 max)
Due to a motorcycle accident I can't go anywhere at the moment, but I hope to have a car within the next 6 months.
I'm okay with 50 miles, I guess.

Biggest town with in 50 miles of you:
Antwerp, Brussels

What got you interested in life extension:
My interest in transhumanism in general was sparked by a silly television show on NBC, "Heroes". But it was when I accidentally
stumbled upon a TED lecture by Aubrey De Grey that I saw the value of ILE. No, not the value - the necessity.

Skype User I.D. (its free to download):
tim.mental.paradox.suetens

Would you be willing to host a meeting, or know of a suitable meeting place in your area, i.e. coffee shop, pub, etc:
I'm willing to try, but of course I'd like to know more about the actual nature of the position - I mean, what am I *exactly* supposed to do?
Is it within my abilities? I graduated high school and studied english and dutch for a year, but I have no expert knowledge on Biotechnology
or nanotechnology whatsoever. I've never done anything like this.

How much time can you commit to working on this, going to meetings, putting up flyers, etc:
Currently I have a fulltime day job: 7-18 from monday to friday. But on weekends I tend to have plenty of free time.
