Zinc has been improving my physical appearance and having some mood benefit as well. But I notice I am becoming extremelyyy hot. Even at low doses of 10mg Zinc Chelate. How do I balance this out? I assume this is the vasodilation. My veins look larger. feel hott hott and hot.

Also is it wise to use zinc w modafinil?

Should I be taking vit c with it? Or brewer's yeast (b complex)?

Zinc unequivocally increases my sex drive and testosterone-energy. I love it, just make sure to take it with a meal or you'll get terrible stomach cramping.

Zinc and Magnesium usually go hand-in-hand as far as deficiencies. Personally, magnesium produces a noticeable calming and relaxing effect. I take it twice daily in powder form with hot tea.

There are a handful of other supplements that are good like this (like Tribulus Terrestrius from a good source), but I won't list them here right now. I just wanted to also voice my opinion that Zinc is an amazing suppelment. I take 50mg a day and I would especially take it if you're sexually active.

Yes, zinc also makes me horny, it's linked to testosterone levels and too much horniness keeps me awake at night unless it's ahem, seen to. I had to stop taking it as often, being a young guy anyway, but with the zinc... it was just too much.

How much zinc is too much and can disrupt zinc/copper ratio?

50 mg is too much as well, not without supplementing a little copper as well.
Too much zinc will begin to be anti-androgenic, and will overinhibit DHT - possibly producing similar symptoms to PostFina syndrome. Also too much zinc will dull the sexual nerves (and nerves in general) by overblocking NMDA currents (the primary excitory current in the body, and CNS).
Do you have any studies that it can become a 5ARI? I couldn't find anything although it did mention it could become a 5ARI but it didn't say at what dosage. It seems like it's more of a powerful aromitase inhibitor though which is good.

Yes Zinc really works for me in this department, over a few days it makes my testicles feel heavier and larger and I generally feel more solid, grounded and powerful. Very noticeable increase in sex drive and erection hardness as well.

If you really want to experiment as to how far you can go, along with zinc, also try taking cordyceps and Testojack-200.

Source that it will dull the nerves?

From what I know 30mg is the required max dosage. 50mg is too much IMO.

Not a problem, as usually happens with most vitamins and minerals you can "recharge" your levels for a while. Problems will come if you take 50mg every single day for the rest of your life. But you can take 50mg daily for a month.

Ensure you get enough copper, for example I take a supp called OptiZinc from Source Naturals it is 30mg zinc monomethionine (the most bioavailable as far as I know) and 300mcg copper :)

Afaik the rda for zinc is around 11 mg , but it's elemental zinc.Supplements often contain just 20 % of elemental zinc, so the 50mg the OP took was most likely close to 100% RDA of elemental zinc. Unless you eat oysters and shell fish regularly it's difficult to get anywhere close to 10 mg a day.

Short stature does not suggest low androgen levels, it suggests the opposite because androgens in conjunction with estrogens close the growth plates. But it's almost certain that your short stature is due to genetic mutations and not increased pubertal androgens.

Anyway, normally zinc only provides a 50-200ng/dl increase (that's not a lot) though it does a whole lot of complex stuff that can make it feel like it's a big change. For myself it stops working after a week.

Funny thing was, even though I stopped high doses of Zinc Picolinate; I was still taking a 20mg Zinc Citrate with 1.25mg Copper Gluconate from another Zinc supplement I had. This lower dose I thought would be beneficial to me without risking my health; however I cannot say I saw any noticeable effects of this supplement, compared to my 50mg Zinc Picolinate.

You might be feeling an effect of the picolinate ion rather than the zinc. I tried a low dose (20 mg) zinc picolinate supplement recently, and I couldn't believe how amped up I got. I was awake most of the night- it felt like I'd stumbled upon some sort of cheap amphetamine substitute. I googled it, and other people were reporting insomnia with zinc and also with chromium picolinate. I've used zinc gluconate lozenges in the past without any such effect. I wonder if some of the wild reports of guys developing magical powers over women, etc., are actually picolinate-induced hypomanias?

Hey Niner,

Do you have links to where other people are reporting this? I can't find much information on the effects of just the picolinate ion or picolinic acid (which would be hard since no one takes it in isolation).  I've been using both Zinc and Chromium Picolinate for 2 years now, and I'm worried about long term effects. Any info would be appreciated!

Zinc is one of the most pervasive minerals throughout the body, you won't have trouble absorbing it. Once you deplete your molybdenum, boredom and anger will rise as the adrenals over stimulate the CNS. Then over time vanadium stores around the body decline, leading to type II diabetes, low melatonin, no 3rd eye activation, bouts of feeling strongly about little things, tempers flaring too high/to long, sluggish liver functions. Magnesium will also get used along with B vitamins.
Boron enhances hormones as long as iodine is about to push out the heavy metals from everywhere and d3 in the kidneys, and k2 and vitamin E and vit C to protect everything .
So zinc works......natrual vit C supplements won't make your gums bleed at high doses. Most people's guts have 200mg absorbing capacity in one sitting. I wish people would stop repeating stuff they read based on old studies, it ain't bad advice from the studies just not totally correct.
Having ones methylation cycles increase is good, but how are you going to feed ones tissues? Is there organic local produce affordable, where's the distilled water, how's your amino blood profile, do any genes need activating by D3, maybe an increase of digestive resistant starch could help, what are parasite mind symptoms? Zinc focuses the mind, molybdenum insures diligence, magnesium switches off the noise and dissolves heme.
If you're not taking cofactors with any mineral intake you will suffer. Thx.
Vit A is in all fresh food , don't let zinc dry out your liver!

I've grown a few inches since adulthood. The parasites will hold you back. I have spurts of growth when I hit on a supplement that I really need. Phosphatidyl Choline works if you have your body functioning properly.

Be careful though. Too much zinc is linked to neurodegeneration.

Men need more zinc because it is used to increase test where as for women they don't need much testosterone so the zinc can be used better for the immune system. this is why your balls shrink when sick because the zinc is being taken from the scrotum and used up if severely deficient.

This nutrient is especially relevant in the midst of this dark winter...

A player of ubiquitous biological roles in the mind and body. Zinc modulates brain excitability and plays an important role in Neuroplasticity. Zinc is found in virtually every tissue in the body and plays a role in up to 300 different types of chemical reactions in the body.
