If Imminst hasn't applied yet, here's the link to the Google Grants program: http://www.google.co...ts/details.html
Florin Clapa suggested this idea on his Marketing ideas list.

That did look like a great option. We checked into that, but there is something to do with the sponsor ads that we run that disqualify us, or limit us, cause us to have to pay for that, or something of the sort. I forget all the details. Mind was telling us about it.
We're working on some of those that Florin lists now, like goodsearch and facebook causes. We will also be working to incorporate more once the fundraiser pages get settled. Theres also the matter of linking up to affiliate fundraisers, which we still have to do. They are on the back burner for now while we work to get the rest of them going, but we'll get them in there, unless they dont pass the final proposal, but I think they will.

This isnt the greatest of widgets, but I think its enough to begin a "imminst.org/inw" page. Then everytime we want somebody to join our fan page we will be more able to remember that link, and can send them there. It will also then have enough content to start sharing with the "share this" buttons that modelcadet is working on. It will also serve as a place for people to go and retreive that fan badge to share in topics and other places. It will also give the INW team a place to plot out all its components in a more deliberate fashion.

It would be wise to have a very simple facebook logo on the main website that redirects to the facebook fan page.
Sort of like on this blog http://www.1world1change.com/ see the facebook and twitter logos on the right? People know to click them to be redirected to the respective pages

It would be nice to be able to track how much was being donated, because if you tracked it you could have "goals" or post the total number at the top of the page. People like to see that they aren't alone in doing things.
It "splits" the cause though, because Causes in Facebook also tracks. But, everyone using Causes suffers that. You could post the latest Causes count too.
The most important part is showing what the money is actually spent on, and I note the separate donation pages are doing that. Someone needs to maintain these pages with any large successes IMO, going forward. You probably planned on that.
In general I like the idea, it gives doners a far better idea what their money does than is easy to discover right now. As long as its really easy to find from the front page...
As to wording:
Quote
Priceless is a bit over the top here IMO. It just sounds unprofessional to me. Sounds better where it is in the last paragraph.
Quote
Kinda awkward, at least to me, maybe "you can help accelerate the aspect of the cause that you like best."
Like the 3rd paragraph though.
(will try to find time to review the separate donations pages this week)

The following three need more pointed goals like the art team page has. Volunteer prize system needs a scale drawn up. Something along the lines of "every time we raise another $300 the yearly prize is raised." Vip needs to indicate that we buy books and list other things we might buy for vips and use for this project. Longevity Meme needs to outline some target amounts that we need.
Quote
Vip Outreach Team Fundraiser(VIPO) Fundraiser - Help us purchase items such as books that we send out in our work to attract more VIPs to the cause. VIPs lend us added legitimacy that helps the cause excel. *Donate* *Learn More*
The Longevity Meme (TLM), Folding at Home (FAH) Team Prize System Fundraiser - By keeping this prize system funded, we keep our rise to the top of this famed Stanford protein research program strong. *Donate* *Learn More*
888 and cryonics will be coming out at least temporarily, they both need more analysis than the rest. The general and member donation might be merged with and or replaced by the current wording at imminst.org/join and imminst.org/donate so that will take some extra consideration.

Another thing we can really use is for a few more volunteers to apply for the content management team. We already have rwac and a few others helping out in there. We have gotten a lot done but there is still many things we are working on. If you are interested in a spot then let me know. Its really flexible, you make your own schedule. There are no punishments for not performing or sticking to a schedule, instead we work in a positive reinforcement system, in which you are entered in the monthly volunteer prize drawing during any month that you perform the team minimum.
Ill be in there right now working on, trialing the pay portal embedments, and looking around the new forum structures to see what new options might have presented themselves. If anybody wants to meet me in skype to give me a hand, we can discuss it as we go, then let me know.
