1) Lithium
2) K2 MK7
3) Pomegranate extract
4) Green Tea extract (to be taken at seperate time as pom)
5) Vitamin D3

Maybe I would switch Methyl-B12 w/ Lithium, or add it as #6, but this list wins for me. Covers it all...anti-cancer, anti-heart disease, anti-dementia, anti-aging...and additionally is safe enough in combination to be used in normal doses by those without any biochemical knowledge.

6) Fish Oil (maybe this should be in top 5 come to think of it)
7) Magnesium (depending on diet)
8) Multivitamin (adjusting dosage based on diet)

Arg! Top5, - well, for strict 'longevity purpose', here's what I probably would take if I were to face serious consequences considering a 6th supplement:

1. Metformin
2. Oxaloacetate (benaGene)
3. trans-Resveratrol
4. Melatonin
5. Carnosine

1. Vitamin D3
2. Fish oil / Omgega-3
3. Basic multi-vitamin
4. Magnesium
5. Green tea

Presently, the five listed above are all I really take on a daily basis. I make sure I get around 3500 MG of potassium every day through diet, no supplements (mainly from 24 oz of low sodium V-8 juice and 12 oz of orange juice, plus my regular diet). I also eat a little dark chocolate most days a week (72% cocoa or higher when available). I am going to keep taking fish-oil for now unless the future shows that present concerns of pro-oxidant activity are valid in vivo. Presently, it seems the majority of evidence suggests that fish oil and/or omega-3 have a positive influence on health, and I also like how it makes me feel, i.e., less anxious and improved mood.

Regarding the inclusion of lithium in some of the posts, can you guys educate me a little on this ? I am aware that it is used for emotional and mood issues, but I was not aware that it had value for health and/or life extension. What type of lithium and what dosages are generally used ? What can it do for general health and/or life extension ?

Thanks
John

^^ Fantastic review (from a fellow forum member)

And copy+pasted from what I just sent a friend:
"The available experimental evidence now appears to be sufficient to accept lithium as essential; a provisional RDA for a 70 kg adult of 1000 µg/day is suggested."

Theoretically, green tea ought to be terrific for everyone. It threatens to make my life shorter, however, by giving me horrendous anxiety.

It is not theoretically, it is the law of large numbers. You are an outlier, so if we did a study with a decent sample size experiences like yours would be statistically insignificant (and thus not really relevant).

Maybe, but I found the effects all too dramatic, and, judging by the posts in the linked thread, I'm hardly alone in this respect.

Perhaps, but the other individual claimed to be able to fall asleep after taking 10mg Adderall. I haven't been able to fall asleep for as long as 15 hours after taking it.

How have you taken green tea? Extract? As a drink? You might find white tea more relaxing (more L-theanine).

is there a specific reason why you take a Vit D3 in a liquid form and not Softgels? (i guess it has to do with Gelatins Glycerins in softgels)

also could you post a link of your Multi Vit ?

Thanks

To be honest, I take a softgel everyday and D3 sublingual spray every other day or so. It's kinda of expensive and less convenient than taking the gelcap.

The liquid form has been proven to have a higher absorption.
Here's a link to what i use:

NOW brand also makes a liquid d3 with a dropper.

here's the link to the multi-v

Softgels have liquid inside. It's an oil. The liquid forms of vitamin D would probably work fine, but they strike me as a hassle to use and a waste of money. I can't think of any reason why they would work better than an oil-formulated softgel.

ALCAR

Aronia

Ubiquinol

Vitamin K2 (mk4)

Phosphatidyl Serine

I also take galantamine, 2mg/day. But if I could only take five, then it would not make the top five. I would rank it around number 6 or 7.

Why ginkgo? Ginkgo just doesn't seem to do much for most people. What does it do for you?

I think he might have listed it somewhere in this thread. I could be wrong.
