I have perrenial rhinitis and I have to spit mucus out each morning when I awaken. Would taking NAC orally help break down the mucus accumulated in my sinuses, or does it have to be applied directly to the mucus? If the latter, does anyone know how I'd make a solution for intra-nasal application? I have an empty nasal spray bottle lying around.

Hi, oral is fine. Plenty of anticongestants are nothing but 600mg NAC to disolve in water.
