Yes, I know I am a very very bad person. Anyways, I have been on zoloft daily with ativan mixed in about 1 time every 2 weeks for about 6 months now and my anxiety has definitely decreased since... However, I felt like I was constantly unable to focus and all that jazz with my school work so I brought up getting an adderall prescription from the doc who has been giving me the zoloft/ativan. He was against this (he knows I am in med school and thus thought it was just so I could cram hard core-which its not, I want to take the adderal 5 days a week) and so I ended up going to another doctor to get this prescription. The new doc has given me add xr 20 mg but I was just wondering how bad it is to go to 2 different docs for different prescriptions? I like the adderal xr a lot more than the zoloft/ativan so I was thinking I could just drop the other doc so I only have the addy but in a perfect world, would enjoy both. And yes, of course the docs don't know I'm going to each other for different things. Since I am in med school, I am aware of the contraindications and all that crap and know the signs/symptoms of the stuff I need to be aware of. Anyways, I really am just more concerned about the legal ramifications of both docs finding this out (I would imagine the only way is the pharmacy companies would investigate and call both docs-because they are contraindicated). Anyways, was just wondering what your guys thoughts were to this conundrum. Should I drop the one doc, just keep still and see what happens? Tell the doc that gave me the addy that I used to take zoloft and was wondering if I could get back on and then drop the other doc? Suggestions please.

Just stick to both docs if you can afford it. Tell the one that gave you addy that you are also on lorazepam and zoloft. Don't let it bother you too much.

Hm, thanks for the input khemix. I would imagine if I told the addy doc I was taking the zoloft and then the other doc found out about the addy, he would really only just deny me as a patient, right? There aren't like federal laws or anything that could get me in major trouble, right? (I'm thinking of people who doctor shop to get multiple prescriptions of pain meds).

Right. Any federal laws stating that a person is not allowed to use Adderall + Zoloft + Ativan? Of course, not.

You can easily keep both, but if you don't feel like that, then just tell your doc.

Legally no issue, morality of you have to figure out yourself. Would not bother me personally and there some irony in a doc not wanting to prescribe medication to a med school student, anyhow...
