This is probably not the right place to discuss this, but I've always been curious about one thing:

Say we get cryonics working really well, and people are reversibly suspended before dying of a serious illness.
Say that the illness is cured in the future (in, for instance, 50 years).

What would induce anyone to re-animate and cure someone who was suspended (unless perhaps it was a very noteworthy individual)?

Are we assuming that there is some financial trust in place for future treatment, and further are we assuming that there is continuity in social and financial systems such that this trust would still mean something?

It seems a bit of a stretch to me...
