I read a story once where some educational toys were transported to earth from another realm http://en.wikipedia..../The_Last_Mimzy The toys gave the people that played with them higher dimensional cognition practice, a little like flatland kids getting 3d practice.

I wondered what actual Mimsy toys would be so here are some otherrealmly toys that might be producible, since Im merely me, they are mostly math dimensionality toys.

uh, first though im going to describe something scientific, scientists have sent a 114 AMU molecule as a beam to a detector, so thats a thing the size of two or three amino acids. What if you felt like sending an entire peptide as a beam (as a wave rather than a particle) like the 7 amino acid peptide oxytocin or vasopressin

well, you could put two of the 114 amu beaming mechanisms next to each other directed at about the same place, then change the rate of beam transmission of one so it would complete its entire transmission more gradually than the other, so that the reactivity of the first peptide edges was always going to react to the gradually appearing second peptide beam, that way when complete they would be linked together to form a large amino acid sequence. with a grid, as well as different beam durations you could create larger proteins.

so the simple toy idea here is that transmitting matter as a wave, with nested waves of different frequencies permits matter construction at a distance. making an educational kids toy of that you use light frequency duration to gel material, or you make a tone pipe, next to a fluid filled normal rounded ( ====== ) acrylic magic wand, where the tone causes the wand contents to sort slightly, then with another tone they sort to a different length, then you practice making two or more tones to nest as well as position the matter as you prefer, with the wand round part ( being an optical element that makes it look big n pretty to the viewer. So you can music shapes into being at different velocities to draw a linear pretty shape.

Then another mimsy toy is directly suggested as a result of this meissner effect video, the levitating thing is actually superconductor on wafer technology, like an ic, so that means you could make different shapes. some 3d, that would keep vibrating once they started, similar to the way superconductors keep rolling, a 3d object would keep vibrating, the 3dness is the benefit, if I said make musical strings out of meissner effect material, their length would make them vibrate at perfect tone once they started vibration, people would say Ooooh, levitating guitar, this is a mimsy toy though so it is about the kids making 3d overlapping vibrations they like with a thing that floats midair. so they could construct nested circles that vibrated together like appealing chords or the like, the 3dness of it it what matters, as well as the accumulated intuitive knowledge of 3d resonance effects. so its a meissner effect 3d resonance fun sound toy

This will sound far out, yet it might work as a kids toy, the temperature of a fluid can be represented with something thart looks like a distribution, there are actually many many molecules moving more rapidly as well as more gradually than the average. If one could aerosolize to say 20 molecule clumps, a superconductor, like some that are superconductive at 140K (273 is liquid water), its possible some of the clumps might actually be from the part of the distribution cool enough to superconduct, a spray of these would deflect differently at a magnetic field, so the levitating just happen to be cool aerosol nanoparticles could stay above a magnet where they would gather, then maybe they do moving magnetic amusements. Less technically amazing would be if nanocontainers large enough to contain nothing yet strong enough to avoid collapse can be produced at sizes with a density less than air. these completely empty nanodirgibles would be like a floating micropowder that if made a certain way(diamagnetic bismuth atoms or possibly huge multiatom clumps of Co), would respond to magnetic fields, so the kids could play with directable visible regatherable gas. these would do weird millikan like things as well as possibly group together from the magnetism

Other people have thought of things like Penrose aperiodic tiling, as well as the Rubiks cube, so another mimsy toy would be a pattern resonance (it pattern) toy with a white circle with more white circles when you place them on each other they make a ) ( shape with a wide round upper surface placing them that way though the feeling of playing is increasing benefit, so if they were on a light emmitting base they would look prettiest mosti ncreasing of their isness when you constructed them that way

also you could use light sky blue as a field color then have placing the white circle becoming a part of the field from the right side make a particularly pleasant sound, or if was a levitating circle on a field it would move most happily gently wheras some of the other directional approaches would be rubbery or um, sunrisey

more mimsy toy ideas are welcome
