No, they sent one or two emails that their current processing time is >4 weeks, so I am pretty close to that point, expecting the results any day. It seems they changed their portfolio a bit and provide average and shortest telomer results in their basic kit now, probably due to recent developments that the shortest are more meaningful for health/aging than the average, so not too many people or physicians/consultants will be satisfied with averages only, that market is simply collapsing.

Looks like Telome is actually only doing one test, the premium one. If you order the basic one, they just don't report as much detail to you. But you can upgrade after the fact and get the extra detail later if you want it.

I send them a reminder this week as they missed the communicated timeline. The reply gave a couple of vague reasons for a delay, looks like it's far more difficult to do these measurements than they thought. Maybe they have issues replicating results, which I wouldn't hold against them.

Finally I got my results. The fraction of shortest telomer cut-off is <3kb and the report states which percentile you are in (0-33.3%, 33.4-66.6% or 66.7-100.0%), so in the middle percentile you would know your value +/-4%
You can look up where you are on a range distribution graph for 20 to 80 years vs the <3kb fraction of 0% - 40%. An average 50 year old would have 15% +/- 4% short telomers.

The other measurement, the average telomer length, comes with full precision (no rounding) and they put you on a graph with respect to your age cohort and linear extrapolation +/- 5 years.

In summary, the results indicate to me I am not in urgent need of Telomer extension and I think I'll run another test in about 5 years. I am not sure when action (Cyclo?) is recommended but I'd think latest when you hit the 20% for short telomers.

Noteworthy: Telome states in their report that these regimens may help with the shortest telomers but could also reduce the average.
"Early data and reports suggest that telomerase activation therapy both decreases average length and increases the proportion of short telomeres. While unexpected, this possible outcome is not unreasonable, since telomerase activation therapy has been reported to extend only the shortest telomeres"

Is there maybe (in parts) an autophagy process at work?

I notice that TeloMe has stopped taking orders for saliva telomere length testing.
Also, it is no longer possible to log into their website.
So much for taking multiple tests, over time, to determine if an intervention is making a difference. :/

I used once (Nov. '11 at age 56) the services of SpectraCell: http://www.spectrace...lomere-testing/

"...The Patient Telomere Score is calculated based on the patient's telomere length on white blood cells (T-lymphocytes).  This is the average compared to telomere length on lymphocytes from a sample of the American population in the same age range.  The higher the telomere score, the "younger" the cells.  A Telomere Score that is above the average line is desirable...".
