Hello all,

I am brand new here, been lurking around for a while now and very interested in this area of the forum. You seem like a friendly and knowledgeable bunch, it is time I sign up.

The subject of nootropics is something I was completely aware of until a few weeks ago, except for maybe reading the word in a few articles and not taking much notice of it.

I am currently supplementing;
Acetyl L Carnitine 500mg,
Alpha Lipoic Acid 150mg,
Fish Oil 2000mg (660 EPA + 440 DHA) on some days this is doubled,
Phosphatidylserine 100mg
Co-Enzyme Q10 100mg
Ginkgo Biloba 6000mg = 120mg of extract
Siberian Ginseng 1000mg = 30mg of extract
Supervits Multivitamin

I do drink a lot of strong coffee. Alcohol maybe once every two weeks, no more than 4 pints of Guinness, so not to excess.

In recent months I was feeling a mental fog and physical fatigue, I had trouble remembering things and concentrating for very long. I have always been quite witty with good levels of intuition, without these I was lacking in confidence in social situations and studying.

I have felt a lot of the above lift a little but not considerably.

I am interested to know what has led you guys, and gals along the journey of nootropics?

Piracetam looks as though it will be the first step onto the ladder for me, what do you think? Is there any solid reading you could direct me too? Or any advice?

Thank you all in advance.

The fact that you say you often rely on your intuition makes me think you would notice the very subtle effects of piracetam. Please reread the previous sentence if its message hasn't hit you yet; the compounds effects are subtle!

Honestly, I perceive myself as a right-brain oriented thinker and find that Piracetam has had the greatest, if not the only, effect at keeping me more balanced in thought process. It helps me steer clear of confusion and gives me more confidence in final opinions (not necessarily a good thing).

The only two side effects I have had are pressure in my skull during the late afternoon and irritability.
