Hi

So, over the last year or so I have noticed some changes in my skin and hair.

The hair on my head has become brittle and frizzy when It used to be a bit wavy and shiny. I think the texture of each hair has become worse and the color has become a slightly lighter shade of brown. I have also noticed when i scratch my scalp i find what I guess are dead skin cells under my fingernails (dandruff?). It's lifeless and dry after a shower and then a day or two later it becomes very oily.

My skin has also become worse. I get very dry on flaky in my eyebrows and around my chin, while i have an oily T-zone.
The thing that really has me puzzled is that I seem to heal wounds, bruises and acne veeery slowly. Right now I have a purple-ish spot on my chin that has been there for 10 days and before that it was a pimple for about a week. A few years ago when I would get a pimple or bruise you could fast forward 4-5 days maximum and there would hardly be any trace left of it.

Could this be because of nutrition or are my hormones out of whack? I really have no idea what's going on here.

I am a 23 year old guy by the way.

It sounds like you have contracted some sort of bacteria that does better in areas that get less sun (head; eyebrows) and causes a slow healing secondary infection in pimples.

It would be good to know exactly what it is, but there are broad spectrum natural... 'anti biotics' that work for many things and are worth a try.

1 is Extra Virgin Coconut oil.

Its messy and difficult to get on the scalp if your hair is long, but worth a try (topically and internally) for a week at night.

The other (worked to eradicate my Dandruff) is colloidal/ionic Silver.
This is way less messy, but still difficult to get on the scalp with long hair.
I applied it 2 to 3 time a day for a week.

NB That silver reacts with chlorides in sweat, stomach acid etc to form blue silver chloride.
Sunlight helps this process along.
I used the stuff before knowing this without issue but its probably best to avoid sweating and sunlight while trying this.
If you want to try it internally swish with it for a minute or 2 (swallowing a small amount is fine) and spit it out.

Sounds like seborrheic dermatitis. Lots of info on the net about it and various treatments.

I honestly think you are too young to be having the issues you describe - go see a doctor, while the are not perfect in Sweden they certainly will be able to pick up basic hormonal disturbances which is what it sounds like you are having!

Check your thyroids! Quickly! I got hypothyroidism at 23 and went undiagnosed for a year. Get the important blood works done: TSH, T4, T3, Cortisol, B-12, and Ds. You could very well be anemic if your wounds are not healing quickly enough. B-12 tests should tell you that. Always go to a doc first before coming here. A one time visit to check your levels is worth the money, and could potentially save you from doing irreversible damage to your body by waiting. Keep us updated :-)
