The LEF writeup on Parkinson's is pretty good.  Considering the role of mitochondrial dysfunction in Parkinson's, I would consider a mitochondrial antioxidant like c60 olive oil, MitoQ, or SkQ1.

Exactly. That's why I also listed methylene blue earlier.

That could work, but you'd need a large dose of MB, on the order of 50-100mg.  People have a lot of GI issues with that.  TauRx is working on marketing a drug for dementia that is a reduced form of MB. (a.k.a. leuco-MB)  You can get by with lower doses and there are less side effects.

Parkinson's patients 'walk and talk again' after receiving cancer drug in trial

A cancer drug tested on people with Parkinson’s disease has produced remarkable results, giving some patients a new lease of life.

The drug, called nilotinib, has been used in the past to treat patients with a certain type of leukaemia. But in a small clinical trial in the US, 12 people with Parkinson’s disease or a similar condition called “dementia with Lewy bodies” were given small doses of nilotinib for a six-month period with startling results.

Dr Charbel Moussa, who led the study at Georgetown University Medical Centre in Washington DC, said: “We’ve seen patients at end stages of the disease coming back  to life.”

This nilotinib result is a pretty big deal, imho.  This particular compound is kind of ugly in terms of adverse events, although it's pretty good by cancer chemotherapy standards.  The thing that's exciting about it is that it shows what enhanced autophagy can accomplish in a neurodegeneration context.   It would be fantastic if this encourages work on autophagy enhancers that are safe enough to use as prophylaxis.  These would be likely to have anti-aging effects as well.
