I have some concerns about life extension, particularly my parents ability to make the LEV.
I would like a Longevity Escape Velocity option for my parents they are aged 50 and 62 and am concerned as to whether or not they would make it out.
Looking at more exotic concepts envisioned by the likes of Ray Kurtzweil:
Technology to enable the merging of humanity with artificial parts. Essentially becoming a cyborg than robot yet looking just like a biological human. The new body will not age like the biological one. Also to find out if it's possible to transfer the human consciousness and personalities into a different medium, if so how to do it, and the possibility of super intelligence with the help of reverse engineer of the human brain.
Although life extension is important, so is increasing human intelligence to extreme levels is why I also want to contribute to a cause that funds research related to it.
I'm torn between 2045 initiative, SENS and Methuselah foundation. I have a budget for charity of about a few thousand a year, and curious which to donate to. I'm thinking dividing up 33% for each, since I am speculating the biotech revolution which will at least allow for modest life extension (perhaps 30 years or middle aged adults) might be coming before our ability to use artificial parts as envisioned by 2045 initiative to extend human life to similar degree, I will fund biological longevity to save lives which would had otherwise not life long enough to live out the ideas envisioned in the 2045 project. But some of us will want to have the option to merge with machines later and expand our intelligence like never before.
