In my experience real nootropic effects have only been seen in me at least with combining several things to form a synergistic effect.

Same. What combo has worked for you? I stumbled across something really effective and I'm trying to potentiate it.

Effective how?

Alpha GPC hands down.

900mgs with 2g of taurine eliminates hangovers for me.

at 1200mg alpha GPC it gives me ridiculous energy like bouncing off the walls, It synergizes with adrafinil very well for me.

It also feels so clean, so smooth. it's borderline manic at 1200mgs. I usually keep it at around 600mgs.

most other nootropics and their cousins like phenibut have no effect on me.

NSI-189 is the only nootropic that has noticeably helped with my memory. Tianeptine is great for social interaction. Racetams give a nice drive to get things done, almost like a healthy version of amphetamine. And last but not least, caffeine just feels sooo good.

Noopept has been my "saving grace" for the past few months. 30mg/day sublingually and my ADD short term memory problems are all but gone.

I should mention that I'm also on a 10mg twice a day schedule of racemic amphetamine salts (generic adderall) although I DO NOT CONSIDER THIS A TRUE NOOTROPIC.
By that I mean it doesn't enhance my mental capacities per se, it simply enables me to focus and use the abilities that I already have. For all that the amph helps me, the Noopept fills in the gaps and holes that the amph misses.

I would say its effects on memory are similar to what I remember the effects of Strattera (atomoxetine) were like, but then again that was years ago when I was prescribed that.

Biggest suprise for me was Modafinil by far, started with the racetams with Choline sources, including noopept and a couple others, and while they each had their pluses, they all pale in comparison to Modafinil, which gave exactly what I needed, drive and focus on a higher more impactful level.

Coluracetam for sure!

It gives me more attention and focus on tasks, which in turn improves my productivity!

would definitely recommend!

Gentlemen, I find your lack of faith in Fasoracetam... disturbing.

It's the compound of choice from all of the ones listed which I find the most useful.

Mind you, I have only tried NRI's, SSRI's, Methylphenidate, vitamins, and Omega-3.

Faso has abilities from all of the above, in my personal experience, but none of the draw-backs of the more potent stuff. It's good sh*t.

Whole-heartedly recommended.

I would be very interested in seeing the comparison to Coluracetam tho'... WHO'S THE MIGHTIEST? My money is on Faso, naturally.

I can't help but chuckle that with all the time and money we spend chasing after these nootropics, good ole caffeine still comes in at the top

CILTEP is the most effective for me on it's own. It seems to be completely hit or miss for most people. I ordered some from PowderCity for much cheaper than the proprietary formula, even though it was the exact same.

In addition to CILTEP, I find that l-tyrosine, ALCAR, and phenylpiracetam are also very effective when used together.

Caffeine + Theanine is great but the effects are still very limited.

It's better to try Caffeine + L-theanine for starters.  If you want to go deeper, I would consider Sulbutiamine,Piracetam,Modafinil. For example Piracetam did some of my best programming.

By far Acetyl-carnitine, low price with immediate effect. Stack that with some tyrosine and ginseng you have yourself an adrenal powerhouse that's able to break the blood brain barrier. Citicoline is really good too especially for brain fog there was a study published by researchers at harvard that found this could be a treatment for the grey matter lost from habitual marijuana smoking. I've put together a detailed explanation of the study and Choline source they studied Incase you interested.

Most widely used substance is obviously going to get the most votes.

I find Amphetamine Sulfate to work the best. Now, Methylphenidate or Phenmetrazine also work, but it depends upon the goal.

On the healthier side of things (supposedly!), I really appreciate Noopept and Coenzyme Q10, both definitely help me a lot. I think these work even without the Amphetamine, but become more potent when stacked. Magnesium Glycinate has been invaluable for the side effect reduction from Amphetamines, as well, but by itself without being in a stack I don't think it would be as beneficial as the others.

Hydergine #1, then deprenyl, Piracetam, and centrophenoxine. I find this to be the perfect combo but I do plenty of adds ons depending on my day.

I think it's important to try at least 1 different nootropic for each neurotransmitter to see how you react.

Coffe, Tea.  ;)

Anything fancy or expensive is probably not worthy, specially for the layman or absolute uneducated on science.
