Cross posting from the supplements forum to get some more eyes.

I'm interested in trying sarcosine after reading about it but I don't see it available from anywhere I've bought nootropics from before. Some posts from earlier this year talk about it being readily available and inexpensive but I'm not having much luck.

There's a schizophrenia forum somewhere online with links from where to order from China.
Sarcosine tastes sweet but not as sweet as sugar. No way to 100% verify it is actually sarcosine though. Seems to helps some of the schizophrenics that have tried it, but don't think it is of much value otherwise. Sucks that it is hard to find, being a relatively harmless substance.

There were some pretty good reviews in the d-serine thread, suggesting it was better at potentiating glutamatergic activity than glycine or d-serine.

Try a google search "schizophrenia" "sarcosine" "forum" then search around the forum until you can find the info for the supplier or find out where they get their sarcosine from.

Yeah I found a link to an alibaba supplier on one of the schizophrenia forums and sent them an email, was hoping for something a little more straightforward though.

That may be it, I can't say a remember. It has been years. What is the link of the shizophrenia forum you found the supplier link to? I would better recognize the forum than I would the supplier.

That sounds about right if I remember, it was a crap load of sarcosine that I never finished even after 3 weeks of eating it by the tablespoon. At least it did not taste bad.

Sarcosine didn't do much for me, but then I don't have schizophrenia. In fact, I've never had an amino acid supplement do anything of benefit for me, so I don't blame the sarcosine. At that point I had expected certain percentage of my attempts to be failures. It was just one of many.

I bought mine here, though it's pretty expensive and shipping took 3 weeks (within the same small country! This usually takes 1-3 days here).

My first bulk buy (1KG) was from the Chinese manufacturer mentioned above, they are legit. If you really going to use it for a long time, my advice is, order from there. Expiration date is 2 years, it wasn't even near empty when I had to throw it away. Maybe resell the rest of it and make your money back? Other than smartpowders I couldn't find a cheap source either (last year I bought it all from smartpowders).

Got it today, it actually arrived a few days ago but I was out of town. I don't have any way to confirm the purity or anything, but it is slightly sweet, as expected.

I ordered sarcosine from Smart Powders a few weeks ago, to Sweden. They're decent I suppose, however they didn't include the shipping information in the delivery box, so it's been stuck in the toll for over two weeks now even after providing FedEx with the information they request. Actually FedEx may not ask you for it, or it may take some time, so be careful with them.

Package inspection, especially with undeclared white powders (actually, even if they're declared). There must be some reason that sarcosine is not widely available, though I remember it being more available a few years back.

I'm sure I could safely get the package tho.. but do I really want to try?

Is sarcosine illegal or what the fuck prevents it from being sold? Lots of sellers have supplies of things that they rarely sell. Maybe some magic bubble is preventing sellers from noticing the at least mild popularity of sarcosine.

 

Hmm. A guy on schizophrenia.com from Germany said that he couldn't order anything from the US to Germany because of whatever customs problem. The EU clearly wants people to trade within the EU..
