Well I'm back! (Again) Last post was in the nutrition section in February.

Anways I have added exercise to my regimen! I got a treadmill last week so I'm doing brisk walking for 45 min. to an hour a day on the treadmill and so far it's the best thing in my regimen in regards to how it makes me feel during the day. Mornings are no longer a drag I wake up feeling refreshed and ready to face the day. Now I just need to balance the diet and see how that affects me.

As far as supplements:

ALIVE Multi-Vitamin
Fish Oil 2x day

Medication:

Risperdal 4mg (Doc said he would reduce to lowest dose only when the voices are completely gone).
Fluvoxamine 150mg 100@ Night and 50mg in the evening.
Klonopin (Generic) .25mg@ Night (Doc said I could take up to .50mg if I wanted to (I really only take as needed).

I just recommend to you guys Diet & Exercise if your not doing those 2 things forget about nooptropics or supplements.

Here's my story. (Some of it)

I was hospitalized for Schizophrenia in 2012 due to delusional thinking and hearing voices. I thought people I knew could communicate with me by thought communication/reading. I would sit on the couch and talk with these "voices" which at the time I thought were other peoples thoughts or what they were saying. I thought that people where outside my house hiding by the bushes I would literaly go outside for the whole day (It was summertime) and laugh at them and point by the bushes. Now looking back at the whole scenario I was truly delusional in my thinking.

Medicine has helped but it has it's cost. My doc has mentioned getting my blood checked every 6 months to check for diabeties.

So basically in my opinion if you have a psychriatric condition you should go to a GOOD Psych or Doctor and then once prescribed the right medication you might try adding nootropics or supplements but ALWAYS add Diet & Exercise no matter what!

That's all!
If you guys would like to add anything go right ahead.

I disagree a little regarding the medication - it's my opinion that we can cure ourselves of mental illness with thinking and lifestyle changes as opposed to medication, although therapy would probably be a great option too. I've managed to somewhat overcome severe anxiety, stress, and depression with a combination of those things - positive thinking and more exercise in particular. I don't believe there's any drug in the world you can just take that's going to change something that is present in your brain, your very thoughts - you can do more to change that than any drug, which usually just changes chemical balances in an attempt to mask or starve the disorder of biological pathways in your brain that are allowing it to function, but not getting to the real cause which is IMHO more in your thoughts, your conscious, and subconscious mind. I've observed that many people on medication end up in a worse place if they rely on that alone.I do however believe certain supplements will help you with that positive mindset and clarity that would allow you to overcome such issues, but the difference there is those are natural chemicals which have been used by many over the ages, rather than synthetic, often toxic lab drugs with a myriad of side effects in the printed disclaimers given with them.

Just rationalise to yourself that there can't be voices in your head (other than your own), that you don't have mind reading or communication powers, and that no one is hiding nearby or looking at you. Reduce paranoia by positive thinking away from the delusions. I'd never take prescription medication unless I had something life threatening, billions of years of life on Earth and evolution make the human body (and mind!) a lot more resilient than the pharmaceutical industry (who have their billions of dollars to think about) give it credit for. Good luck, I'd like to think that exercise, clean living, and increased socialisation (or even closer relationships with family/ pets) should clear your mind.

I hate this kind of thinking, you're neglecting a whole area of science simply because the organic processes are not fully understood yet. Would you meditate a cancer away? Tell yourself it's just part of evolution and it doesn't want to kill you?

Please do not listen to this person, take your medication, work out and follow a good diet and hopefully everything will get better.

My exercise regimen:

Everyday: 5 tibetan rites (research Chris Kilham ); some yoga asanas, specially the ones where the head stays below the waist (inverted poses) twice daily: after the 5 tibetans and before going to bed; Charles Atlas sit-ups (12-13).

3 times a week: strenght exercises: only bodyweight with weighted vest and/or backpack: push-ups (regular, atlas, hindu), pull-ups, chin-ups, deeps. Roller wheel abs; wrist roller; Also do some dynamic tension (Charles Atlas style) and isometrics with adequate breathing.

Give your body at least 24 hours for muscle recovery !

Always take whey protein about 45 minutes before and imediately after strenuous strenght exercise (dont overdo ! Increase weight very slowly for months and years; if you feel any pain stop imediately !; Use protective gloves and wrist bands: specialy if u have weak wrists! )

Of course walk and breath the fresh air.

This is a good program if u have no serious health issues. Try it.
