Dear Immortality Forum Members,

I am thrilled to be here, and look forward to participating in discussions - and will hopefully benefit others as well as myself as a result of this involvement.

I have written a post in the Investment section, regarding a project that is very near and dear to my heart.  This project is called, "The Utopian Society."  If you would like to read more about it, here is the url:
http://international...iety/index.html

Also, I have no intentions of reincarnating again. Childhood sucks, and adolescence might be even worse, depending on your personal views. Granted, I am grateful for the wide-eyed wonderment and experience of innocence... marveling at simple things is still a pleasure of mine as a result of this - and I appreciate each and every day I have here (although some are tough as hell itself.) I am learning, and getting better every day. Each day, I know more - and am also able to do more. This experience is one that I cherish deeply and passionately.

I can build a whole mountain, if I have enough time...

There are many things that I want to do (but in all fairness, the mountain was a metaphor, I don't really want to build one.)

I feel as though I have just started to have fun... and intend to always have the best to come.  Further to this, I intend to live forever - so far, so good.

Always,
Mythica

We want the world to be a better place than if we had never been here.

An excellent aim. I like good places.

This makes me curious, though:

Are you really interested in immortality to avoid reincarnation?

Welcome Mythica

I also excepted Immortality because I do not want to reincarnate again. To start all over again is such a waste of time. It took me 40 years just to begin to realise how the world functions. (Yes, I know I am slow)

Especially from a women's perspective Immortality gives you the patience you need to raise children because lets face it when you have children, their needs comes first.  This way you know there is still plenty time for the other stuff. The kids gets all the care they need to be balanced individuals.

Good point - this reincarnation. Who knows, if I would be as smart (or healthy or whatever) as I am today, if I've reincarnated sometimes in the future. And another reason for attack on The Scepticism too, by whom the reincarnation is entirely unscientific. Maybe, but that we can't reincarnate, is another unscientific assumption. We have underdeveloped science here.   [sfty]

At the age of seven, I realised that I scored a luck this time, that things can be much worse, and set out to find a way not to have to come back again. Yes, it is entirely unproven but there are interesting aspects to it, even for the Sceptic. The concepts of uploading and reincarnation has many paralels if you think about it.

Even when the conscious mind is sceptical, the unconscious mind will almost always produce a "past life story" if invited in the right way. In 'regression therapy" therapists have found that what matters is the therapeutic effect and not whether one believes in reincarnation or not. Often the "memories" (whether products of the subjects imagination or paranormal)  experienced bring a therapeutic effect to ailments associated with these "past life recalls".

Good on you Mythica! Positive attitudes like yours are correlated with longevity by the way!
