Has anyone ever tried chewing celastrus paniculatus seeds? They're also called "intellect seeds" and are known in India for being able to boost memory and learning.
I've read some studies showing a beneficial effect such as this one : http://www.ncbi.nlm....pubmed/20645820

I'd like to see if someone used them, I bought some and chewed a dozen for some days, I'm not sure if I felt anything from these seeds plus the seeds taste horrible (very bitter).

IIRC it works by the same mechanism as bacopa, acetylcholinesterase inhibition

I have gone through 100g of those seeds - made me very very sleepy if taken on the morning, which outweighted the perceived positive effect on memory those seed may have had.

The only positive anecdote I've seen for Celastrus seeds involved a claim that chewing them and leaving the seeds visibly in the corners of ones mouth made women horny and men jealous of said user... so take any information on it with a grain of salt, eh?
