I ordered piracetam and choline bitartrate 8 days ago from health supplements wholesalers. Shipping was via USPS, and said it would take 3-7 days. Since it's been 8 days today, I called them and they said it has been shipped back to them probably due to legality issues. Anyone in Canada who buys from HSW? What about other sites that will have no such problems?

I've bought from other suppliers in the past (cognitive nutrition, nsn) and have never had a problem. Did customs send you a letter?

Turns out the product never got to Canada Customs. It was sent back to health supplement wholesalers by the US customs. I emailed HSW and they said that on the returned package it says 'the recipient name matches a denied party/entity who may no send or receive exports'. I have no idea where this came from. I've ordered jewelry gifts from US recently with no problem.. Since the US Customs CBP telephone numbers are down for today for some reason, i had to email them asking what the hell is going on. Still waiting for a response

just get them to send it again. Sometimes it really depends on who in customs was handling your package. I've had many packages sent to me containing uncontrolled substances. One time the substance got stuck in USA customs for 2 months with "evidence" tape on it as if it were cocaine or something (it wasn't, obviously), another time Canadian customs sent my package back. I had the supplier send it back to me and it got through.

Depends what form it's in too. Supposedly you'll have more success if you list a company name. Also more likely to get something through if it isn't a box of pills, apparently.

Because customs can be a dick of they want to.

Usually I order in strange looking baggies with white powders. It's enough to set someone off clearly. Really they couldn't prove anything is wrong and I did nothing illegal but they are allowed to send it back as a precautionary measure if they can't find any evidence for something wrong I guess. Also it may be something "ill advised" but not illegal, i.e. piracetam is a drug, an unapproved drug, customs/ health canada might be like "uh, yeah that's not approved for anythiing, you should be seeing a doctor" and send it back to supplier. My best guess

They might also be like, "well, it's not cocaine but I can't prove what it is and we dont wanna deal with the risks"....

unfair but sometimes reasonable
