Hey you all,

First of all, I'd like to thank you all for the great forum.

 

On 2010, I was planning my first company which made me really need to me me to be awaked during dawn because of some negociations with the other side of the planet (reverted time-zones, haha).

 

Then, I came to be really tired and in my researchs I found out about Polyphasic Sleeping. From what I found, I started trying and after 2 weeks always oversleeping then I got adapted. It's a huge work to adapt. I even could do Dymaxion for 2 weeks, althought, I used to do a 4h Everyman. I stopped after 6 months because it turned to be really bad for my social life. It wasn't nice when I went out with my friends, and, on a certain moment "Ok people. I gotta go to the car take a nap". Althought, it fitted perfectly on increasing productivity to my life.

 

Last year I found out about Modafinil. Althought, modafinil is great helpping you to be awake and productive for long periods. I also found out about many other nootropics that can really help you to increase memory and concentration performace. Modafinil, for me, had a really good concentration performace, but I could notice anything on my memory.

 

After all, my question is simples and very easy to answer. Have any of you tried polyphasic sleeping with nootrops? did it work well for you?

Polyphasic sleep takes a while to adapt to. Also, it's not a very good long term thing to do since your body and brain need sleep to repair and consolidate memories. Your memory will be impaired if you continue to do polyphasic sleep. There is no such thing as a substitute for sleep, no racetam or drug will serve as a substitute for sleep. If you still want to do polyphasic, I suggest taking a half hour or hour nap during the day, then having 5 hours sleep. I've tried that and it works great.

From what I've read, Polyphasic Sleep makes you "go directly" to what interests your body when you sleep: the so called REM phase. No, I didn't have cognitive problems.
