Hi All

I am new here. I have ADHD and take 5mg dextroamfetamine Immediate Release tablets to treat it as needed. Dex has been the best medication I have tried for my ADHD. My biggest problem with ADHD is innatention.

However, I also have an anxiety disorder which is made worse and more obvious by dex so I treat the anxiety with 75mg of Pregabalin which is working well so far.

The only thing left is that I still lack a lot of motivation to do normal things, including going out and socialising. I feel that I am depressed. Not major depression but sort of a low grade depression. A bit like dysthimia. I feel really depressed today. I cant socialise with anyone or have a conversation. I just feel meh.

I was thinking of adding 5-HTP to my combination in order to try and fix the depression and motivate me. Because although the Dex can focus me, I feel lazy! I have checked to make sure there are no co-interactions.

What do you guys think of this?

Any thoughts on adding 5-HTP to my combo?

All contribution appreciated :)

This sounds fine. Just keep in mind that serotonin depletes catecholamines(dopamine, noradrenaline, adrenalin) so it might make you're dex less effective and as a result make you less motivated/less focused. Also try adding in an antioxidant(cysteine for example) as it is vital to longecity especially in this case. On a side note, the wikipedia article for Pregabalin says that it reduces norepinephrine release, do you think this may be why you feel unmotivated and lazy?

This is likely. DId you have the same depression problem without pregabalin?

I have it both ways..... but the pregabalin really makes me not wanna do anything
