The last I heard. glorious, glorious science has successfully regenerated the thyroids of mice through gene expression and stem cell therapy.

Anything on the research of this in humans?

Do you have a reference for the work in mice?  You could try contacting the paper's authors regarding any human trials.  Supplementing levothyroxine in the meantime works well for those with missing or compromised thyroids.

Synthroid even further destroys your thyroid. My mother is on her way out because of it. I'd rather take my chances until something better comes, rather than dying sooner... If I have hypothyroidism at all? Being male, I have like a 6-8% chance of having it.

Has your mother tried desiccated pig thyroid which has all fiv hormones the thyroid makes?
Oh! You're from Michigan! Goiter Belt. Low iodine. Did iodine work?

You might want to consider convincing your mother to add some T3 (cynoplus or cynomel+synthroid). Women can have a hard time converting T4 to T3.

That made a huge difference for me, too. Via the pig thyroid or a T3 pill.
Also recent discovery here, BioPQQ, helped at 20 mg twice day. Such good results might try more. Makes me think one causes the other? (thyroid/mitochondrial disease)

"PQQ does not passes the blood brain barrier, but BioPQQ does " from page:

I ordered twinlabs BioPQQ from vitacost and amazon.

Rwac I just read a 2012 experiment about growing a hormone- producing mouse thyroid. Thank you for bringing that to our attention. I can't wait for same in humans.

Would like to be able to take the stem cells, or inject.

Did you find any updates?
