Hello Everyone - I am new to world of nootropics and after reading several threads I am conflicted. I'd love for some help with the following:
Goals (in order of importance)
- Living in the present or Improved alertness/concentration (most days, I am constantly having an internal monologue and when I am talking to myself, I miss out on important details that are being said in class or at a work-meeting because I am too busy talking to myself and not paying attention to what's being said)
- Improve HGH levels (Human Growth Hormone levels)
- Improved learning ability (I work as a Software Engineer and I am studying Master's. I need ability to study complex math concepts for long hours and actually retain/understand concepts long after I've finished my exams)
- Improved working / short term memory
- Improved brain health (neuroprotection ?)
- Improved social / creativity skills (but don't want logical skills to suffer)\
I am thinking:
9am (when I wake up)
- Multivitamin (generic, 1 a day)
- Noopept (10mg, before breakfast/coffee)
- Cup of Black Coffee
4pm (2.5 hours before my gym)
- Noopept (10mg)
- Cup of Black Coffee
My current routine (weekdays):
- Sleep: 2am to 9am (7 hours, but sometimes 6)
- Work: 10am to 6pm (8 hours, but it's not super tiring work, sit on a computer all day)
- Gym: 6.30pm to 8pm (alterndate days)
- Dinner: 8.30pm to 9pm
- Waste-time/lounge: 9pm to 12am (3 hours)
- Study: 12am to 1am (1 hour)
- Waste time: 1am to 2am (1 hour) (and then Sleep ..2am to 9am)
Ideally, I'd like to waste less time and study a solid 2 to 3 hours. But I get bored very quicky when I am studying. And if I am having hard-time solving a problem, I give-up for the day and try again next day (eventually I do get it). But this slows me down. I have uncontrollable urge to check my phone, email or read news, forums in the 1 hour that I do devote to study!
I also want to significantly improve or boost my HGH levels. I have been working out at a gym with a trainer for close to 2 years and I've gained strength but not much muscle. I got hormone test done and it seems like although my HGH, Testosterone levels are normal, they are close to lower-bound of normal reference range. I spoke to doctor and she said this is perfectly normal. But I think this makes me a "hard gainer". I think if I could get my body to naturally produce higher HGH levels and probably higher Testosterone levels (not injecting, no steriod use, I'd start to see gains in muscle department too
I am 30 years old, 160 lbs male and currently - I do not take any supplements other than multi-vitamins. Sometimes I drink a protein shake after my workout from the smoothie-bar at the gym.
