rule of thumb:
if a noot significantly affects your BP, lay off. IMHO. There's a reason this thread is three years old.
Vasodilators are bad, m'kay?

It seems many nootropics are advertised as vasodilatator when they really have no effects on cognition or focus....there is no direct link or studies i ever came across between vasodilatation and focus\memory so whats the point of stacking Vinpocetine, Picamilon,....etc

Picamilion is slightly toxic.

Hydergine boosts endogenous superoxide dismutase and catalase levels in the brain... absolutely and unequivically priceless !!

I had really good results with vinpocetine a while ago, took it for a few months then stopped. When I started back up again after a bit of a long break it absolutely wipes me out, this never happened before. I just have to lie down for a bit after taking it and normally just go to bed in the evening, if I take it in the morning I'm tired all day. This is quite frustrating as I had such good results with it, same brand too. I don't take it at all now, due to those effects. Also made me look rough too, like i'd been out on on a two day drinking binge, actually that's sort of what I felt like after taking it, like I was hungover.

I'm taking ginkgo at the moment, never really got much from it in the past, but got a it lying around and it's not doing any harm so what the hell, toss it in the stack.

be very very careful with Vinpocetine. may cause platelet count abnormality and suppressed immunity.
hot tea (white tea or lemon balm tea. lemon balm tea has no caffeine) + arginine = safest and very effective route.

I answered Ginkgo in the poll as I haven't tried most of the other compounds. Probably ginkgo's main effect is vaso-dilation, whereas many of these other compounds have other forms of action in addition to vasodilation. Ginkgo's effects probably occur over many months by increasing cerebral and peripheral blood flow. Most studies that showed an effect with ginkgo were at least 3 months long and typically longer. I like arginine for vasodilation, but can't say I notice any particular cognitive effects. Propionyl-l-carnitine has some vasodilating properties and seems to improve both brain and sexual function.

Hydergine, hands down. Absolutely no comparison. Although I don't understand why the suggested dosage is 4.5 mg. I can only start to feel the effects when it's no less than 6 mg minimum.

Anyone knows if Hydergine is really a dangerous noot? The prescribing information says that the risk of fibrosis from Hyder is very rare, less than one case in 10.000

Well, if that's the case, I have about the same chance of being struck by lightning. ;) I will take my risk.

Albert Hofmann, the creator of LSD and Hydergine died at age 102 with great mental clarity. It's speculated that he used Hydergine daily. Every drug has risks. I don't understand why hyder got a bad reputation among nootropics enthusiasts while impure piracetam powders or other nootropics from a unkown china supplier are massively dosed.

Vinpocetine has beneficial effects for me, where as ginkgo biloba makes me agitated and annoyed for no reason, it also seems to increase my heart rate. I have no idea why this is, but it is.

How much maximum day/dose we can take Hydergine per week ?

Hydergine is great when combine with Piracetam ,it give great benefit without individual alone Look like Piracetam need more blood flow for left -right hemisphere communication .

My favorite vasodilator is a quite cheap natural chemical called mannitol. Many supplement brands include this in their memory supplements such as now brand.

Didnt know mannitol is a vasodilator :) going to get some now, i got a bit confused when i read it caused compensatory vasoconstriction?

Mannitol causes compensatory cerebral vasoconstriction and vasodilation in response to blood viscosity changes.

Muizelaar JP, Wei EP, Kontos HA, Becker DP.

Abstract

There is no proof that osmotic agents such as mannitol lower intracranial pressure (ICP) by decreasing brain water content. An alternative mechanism might be a reduction in cerebral blood volume through vasoconstriction. Mannitol, by decreasing blood viscosity, would tend to enhance cerebral blood flow (CBF), but the cerebral vessels would constrict to keep CBF relatively constant, analogous to pressure autoregulation. The cranial window technique was used in this study to measure the pial arteriolar diameter in cats, together with blood viscosity and ICP changes after an intravenous bolus of 1 gm/kg of mannitol. Blood viscosity decreased immediately; the greatest decrease (23%) occurred at 10 minutes, and at 75 minutes there was a "rebound" increase of 10%.

Vessel diameters decreased concomitantly, the largest decrease being 12% at 10 minutes, which is exactly the same as the 12% decrease in diameter associated with pronounced hyperventilation (PaCO2 30 to 19 mm Hg) in the same vessels; at 75 minutes vessel diameter increased by 12%. With hyperventilation, ICP was decreased by 26%; 10 minutes after mannitol was given, ICP decreased by 28%, and at 75 minutes it showed a rebound increase of 40%. The correlation between blood viscosity and vessel diameter and between vessel diameter and ICP was very high. An alternative explanation is offered for the effect of mannitol on ICP, the time course of ICP changes, "rebound effect," and the absence of influence on CBF, all with one mechanism.

Does anyone know any ways to increase blood oxygenation? would i have to do hyperbaric oxygen therapy or is there another way?
besides exercise i mean, i want to find more ways that can ? increase oxygenation besides just vasodilation and exercise, would stabilized o2 work or oxygenating water? any diy at home methods for oxygen therapy? im thinking maybe getting a oxygen tank and a venturi breathing mask/oxygen therapy mask as a a home form of oygen therapy?

basicly like the o2 tank and mask like divers use? unless there is a better way of maximizing oxygen uptake?

Coca tea (small amount of cocaine) has been used to improve hemogoblins ability to gather oxygen. Not sure how reliable this is though. Apparently when climbing high mountains, indigenous people would consume this tea to over come altitude sickness.

I wonder about this too, just vasodilation can cause ischema if im correct, or may use the wrong word (as seen with dipyridamole).

Are niacin flushes damaging?

AbSouloutely not, they can be irritating for a while, and it's not uncommon for a little tachycardia, very slightly though..during the niacin flush..also you might itch a bit, but you are flushing toxins out through the skin and pores, and Sweat Glands. I usually get redness on my neck and upper back, as well as ears and forehead...there's a warm sensation followed by a cooling sensation ..which makes sense because the sweat glands are acting up in function so you sweat more and then achieve a cooler body temperature.

I've tried almost all of them on the initial list. Would really like to get some Hydergine, but appears somewhat difficult in the States.

Niacin is probably the one I use the most. Taken before bed it relaxes nicely.

Pomegranate is also very powerful. A great substitute for Cialis before sex or workouts.
