Came in to say "Bulletproof Coffee" was bunk. Left satisfied.

Dave Asprey is a total quack. Apparently he's so off his head on Modafinil and TRT that he can therefore compensate for his poor diet and lifestyle choices. His article on sleep is a favourite of mine.

MCT oil is free from atherogenic long-chain saturated fatty acids, but on the other hand it is a highly refined, processed oil and I would not advice anyone to consume such a refined food in quantities unless there is very compelling evidence that it has beneficial effects.

I don't think the idea behind bulletproof coffee deserves the knee-jerk ridicule it's getting. Yes, Dave Asprey is a snake oil salesman but the concept of using MCT oil to give a quick cognitive boost with some other fat for more sustained energy is pretty sound and very similar to what's been already shown to have benefits for people with Alzheimer's.

Its frightening how retarded some people are.

"Off his head on modafinal"  - You obviously never tried it,, the majority of people who try it get smarter and better. So he's off his head on knowledge, the slimeball.

Its funny how people can delude themselves into thinking they have common sense by simply denying something that is outside their narrow realm of normality, dismissing it as "quackery" without considering what it is, what it does or its results. I understand your ego needs a boost and you may need to leave satisfied, however people have to be called out on their idiocy,as your spewing irrationality onto the net which affects all readers.

Are you kidding? Modafinil is not a drug that makes you without qualification "smarter or better". It is affecting things in which a lack of wakefulness would be a detriment. If you are a higher IQ individual modafinil is going to be of practically no benefit outside of its ability to promote wakefulness.

See: http://www.ncbi.nlm....pubmed/16140369 & http://link.springer.com/article/10.1007%2Fs00213-010-1823-x

Which brings me to the point I was making above: The reason he can post articles saying he sleeps 2.5 hours a day and feels fine is because he is taking a drug known to promote wakefulness in sleep-deprived individuals. His rationale is rubbish. The study he used is from the 70's (or 80's?), completely disproven and was for cancer patients not normal, healthy adults.

I challenge you to find me a credible source that states sleeping 2.5-5 hours per night is more healthy than sleeping 8 hours, or indeed healthy at all.

So no, I completely stand by what I said. You have this charlatan literally selling you an entire philosophy (over-priced scam products included) who is using a number of things that will completely mask any negative side-effects he might reasonably suffer from. Sleep 2.5 hours a night? No problem, he takes modafinil and other nootropics so he'll never feel tired. Worried that this complete lack of sleep and poor diet will hurt your hormonal profile? All good, he's on TRT.

But no, you're right. I bet the benefits he feels are related to avoiding mycotoxins thanks to his foul "bulletproof" coffee, using his vibrating mat, and adding collagen powder to smoothies.

Finally, your justification for why anyone might dismiss the gospel of Dave Asprey as untrue is quite humorous. I have considered the results. Just look it up. The guy is a fountain of pseudo-scientific knowledge that he uses to shill over-priced garbage to his gullible audience.

It's because the way he shills his "Bulletproof Coffee" is by fear mongering about mycotoxins. This is why if you want a true "Bulletproof Coffee" you need to buy his beans lest you put yourself at risk.

You have considered but I've tested, and so have others. Our stats are pretty damn good.

We're not vegans, or armchair scientists, we don't blindly follow Asprey. At the heart of it is grass fed meat. organic food, no sugar, processed foods lots of saturated fat and coffee. Throw in some collagen, Gluthione and your golden. i think he may have fu**ed up with the mycos (a much bigger issue i thought was the kerry gold butter not being grass fed but no-one seems to care about that). At best we can say the mycotoxin issue is "unresolved", but everyone wants to jump on the kill asprey bandwagon.  At the end of the day it doesen't really matter to me if he's an ex con, the core of his diet is working for me. (and of course every other person who tries it).

His products?? - Absolute top quality. CILTEP, Choline Force, GabaWave, good coffee, Gluthiaone, collagen, all great absorption. He recommends what works. Then there is step 2: We read about a product and do our research, then we can actually test that product by seeing the impact it has on HRV using an EMwave and test scores on quantifiedself etc.  We test other products, and unfortunately they aren't as good, so we go to back to Dave's. If your looking to find blind devotion you'll have quite a difficult time finding it with BP followers, and more luck investigating your own anti-dave religion.

I have no intention of attempting to sleep 2.5 hours a night,. 6-7 is fine for me.  I believe it's a CES device he's using, which induce Delta brain waves. You won't find studies obviously, he's a biohacker, testing the waters. When he's done extensive testing I'll just read his summary.( Its a wonderful world we live in:) To be honest 2.5 hours does set off my bullshit sensor. However, being an adult, I can just reject one thing he says that I don't agree with and then logically analyze the next, without getting emotionally involved and screaming charlatan.

PS: I tried huge dose modafinal and it did nothing. I didn't realize i was a genius.
