Soap, does it destroy our skin microbiome?

I started thinking about this a while ago, the habit of scrubbing our delicate flesh with hot water and surfactants is very recent in terms of human history. Could it be killing our human microbiome? I think so, I take brief warm showers with water only. I've not used soap or shampoo for two months. My skin looks and feels great, and I even have less body odor now. I don't even use soap on my hands. I'll never go back to soap.

"Officially" soap destroy the acid protective layer of the skin and this is true, although not a permanent effect, of course. But I'm still not sure if syndets are really better generally speaking. Personally my psoriasis seems to get along much better with good old soap in the long run for whatever reason.

If you live in a cold climate, the soap is not necessary. But I think you should rub soap once a week.
