Hi all.

I got the opportunity to try both methylphenidate and modafinil out for my hypersomnia. I've tried methylphenidate (3x10mg and 3x5mg) and it works OK, however i bit of anxiety and i hate the feeling of coming down on it. I have also experienced a tingly feeling in both of my nipples, clearly a sign of gynomastia. This is why I  stopped, and I wish to try modafinil in about a month.

1. Could someone explain in details, in what way/s methylphenidate produces "male breast development" as a side effect?

I know that it interact with norephedrine , dopamine and growth hormone - so I know that it could affect androgens , but does anybody have a more detailed answer?

2. If you could choose one of these two drugs, considering its safety profile long time, would you take modafinil or methylphenidate? and why?

Have a nice summer.
