At present I'm taking a supplement called Thyro Forte HPA twice a day. Per pill it contains the following:

Tyosine 500mg

Iodine (as potassium iodine) 149mcg

Selenium (as selenomethionine) 75mcg

Cholecalciferol (as vit D3 200 IU) 5mcg

d-alpha Tocopheryl acid succinate (vit E 50IU) 42mcg

Zinc (as amino acid chelate) 5mg

Ascorbic Acid (vit C) 100mg

Withania somnifera root 1.5g

Rhodiola rosea root 200mg

For a while my TSH levels were dropping with them, then my most recent one saw an increase. Leading me to question how much it's been doing. Because of this I was looking into other options and came across AOR Thyro Support. I've used their mutlivitamins before and found them to be well formulated. So I'd expect this to be similar.

Serving Size:

3 capsules

L-Tyrosine 1000mg

Iodine (Potassium Iodide) 500 mcg

Coleus forskohlii extract (10% forskolin) 250 mg

Bacopa monnieri extract (50% bacosides A & B) 300 mg

Copper (malate) 500mcg

Zinc (citrate, fumarate) 5mg

Selenium (Selenomethionine) 55mcg

My biggest concern with both of these is that they will push me to questionably high levels of certain minerals.

Thyro Forte, for example, when combined with what's in my mutli already would put me at a little under 200mcg per day of selenium. As for the AOR formulation I'd be concerned about the high intake of copper which was raised in another thread on mutlivitamins. I'd be taking daily around 500mcg copper (malate) and 1.5mg copper (citrate).

As I'm already taking a multi along with a good diet is it risky to throw a thyroid supplement into the mix as well? Would I be better off individually supplementing one or two things out of these formulations that are proven to work and allow my multi and diet to pick up the rest such as copper, zinc, and selenium?

I was doing some reading last night on adaptogens. Interestingly the Thyro Forte contains two known adaptogens: Rhodiola Rosea and Withania Somnifera. In that sense it may have additional benefit as a longevity supplement. Thing is, I don't stress at all so I can't see adaptogens helping me much.
