I thought I'd mention my own experience. I have been using modafinil, adrafinil and a host of other stimulants for over a year. Two days ago I was hospitalized after mixing 150mg of modafinil with phenylpiracetam (about 60 mg) . I spent ten hours in resus with a resting heart rate of 180 to 150 and severe AF. I suddenly snapped back into a heart rate of 80 at about 4 a.m. but still don't feel 100% I will certainly be throwing away every afinil in my arsenal. Obviously this isn't everyone's experience but perhaps worth mentioning. Certainly no doctor knew what modafinil was.

Modafinil or hydrafinil? It's good to hear you are better.

Hydrafinil doesn't have affinity for the dopamine transporter like ritalin and modafinil. It is a much cleaner eugeroic stimulation but if you are looking for something with DAT affinity then you will be missing that portion of the effects of modafinil. It also has a mood boosting effect related to serotonin unlike modafinil and it has a shorter duration which is more useful if you don't want your sleep disrupted. Personally I like hydrafinil better but both have benefits and drawbacks.

I have tried both Adrafinil and Hydrafinil with little to no results. I received 5g of Hydrafinil on Monday. The next day, I dosed 100 mg with a Monster Energy drink. I went about my day and didn't notice any effects at all. On Thursday, I recklessly dosed 450 mg after reading a report of someone taking 500 mg without serious sides. I typically have a high tolerance with stims and assumed that if 100 mg had little to no effect then 450 mg posed little risk. I was correct. I didn't notice much at all. If anything maybe a slight in the zone feeling while preparing a work correspondence. After these experiences, I believe I am a non-responder to the afinils which is unfortunate since a substance like this could really improve my career performance.

edit: Holy bump! Didn't notice the last post date.

I was very underslept and cranky on a Friday afternoon after a long, grueling work week. I had to finish things up and didn't want any more caffeine nerves - thinking that I would have to sneak in a short nap somehow instead.  I had the most dramatic eurogenic effect ever from after taking 100-200mg of  bright yellow Eugerafinil under my tongue. I quickly felt relaxed and well-rested and in a subtley good mood. Not the dopamine-stim type drive that MOD may give me the first few days I use it. More like just having a great, little nap and ready to tackle the day. As others described, it lasted  maybe 4 hours or so, then I was definitely falling back into an even more cranky and tired mood afterwards during the long drive home. I don't know if this was some withdrawl effect, or just the stress and sleep debt collecting it's normal due. I just ordered some Hydrafinil to compare, and intend to keep one of these on hand for those occassional impossible afternoon slumps.
