Just found out I'm homozygous for the risk allele in http://www.snpedia.c...x.php/Rs1052133 , an SNP involved with the DNA repair gene OGG1 and correlated with higher odds for various cancers.  I also have a very high level of 8-OHdG through a urine test, which is a biomarker for oxidative damage.

I'm still young (mid-late 20s) and have held off trying C60oo so far.  Should these discoveries change the risk/reward equation?  Is there anything else I should consider?

I think it may well alter the risk/reward equation for you.  You already have evidence of high oxidative damage via the 8-OHdG marker.  You could try a course of c60oo, then retest to see if it's having an effect on 8-OHdG.  That would let you know if it was helping in an obvious way or not.  10-20mg/month would be a reasonable dose; commercial c60oo is 0.8 to 0.9 mg/ml.  Dosing frequency could range from daily to biweekly.  I don't think short intervals are necessary.  Let us know how it goes.

Log doses and do another test for 8-OHdG in a few weeks or months and post the results. If you make some other major lifestyle changes please note that too. If it does not work then you can move along and try something different, I've had pleasant experiences with fasting.

By the way, do you know a source for standalone 8-OHdG tests?  I originally took it as part of the ION20 test which is very expensive.

It looks like Genova does it standalone.

Yea saw this as well, but can't find a direct-to-consumer source.  DirectLabs doesn't carry it-- any other good sources for direct-to-consumer tests?
