Hi, since I withdraw from benzos (14 months ago) my sleep is very light and poor. I wake up several times and never refreshed in the morning

After having tried MIrtazapine, Trazodone, Antihistamines, Valerian, Melissa, Zolpidem, etc My Dr. has suggested me to try Lyrica in small dose (25mg) before sleep.

Do you think is a good idea?

Can it worsen my state or my withdrawal?

Thank very much

I forgot to say that I'm on cymbalta 60 right now and it doesn't seem to be doint anything as far as anxiety and sleep quality is concerned

Yea, it is often used off label for sleep. It is quite effective at getting me to sleep personally although I stopped taking it due to cognitive side effects.

The only thing to be wary of is a small abuse potential, due to causing anxiolytic like sedation although it doesn't work the same way benzo's do. Will this negatively effect your recovery? I am not sure.

The type of dose you can expect will be 25mg-150mg (although the maximum can be higher for the purpose of epilepsy) but 25mg will be considered low but some people only take that much.

You should consider trying melatonin approximately 0.25 mg much less than the tablets are dosed at your vitamin store.

25mg lyrica doesn't make me tired at all. How is this supposed to help you sleep?

I tried Lyrica 25mg last night.

It didn't do anything for inducing sleep BUT it seems my sleep was deeper (lots of dreams).

I still woke up several times but one thing that I noticed is that I have waken up relaxed (normally I wake up with anxiety), and with  a bit of dizzinnes and brainfog. I don't feel rested but I feel better than days before.

So... So far the only advantage is less anxiety

Yes. As well as brain fog and cognitive issues. The effects fade away during the day

I dream A LOT and I don't really wake up refreshed so I'm going to stop using it

Sorry to say you have gone through most of the common sleep meds. The only one I know that "improves sleep quality" is GHB aka xyrem but it has its own problems.

Try it, but if I were you I'd go for baclofen instead. The reason they prescribe GHB to narcoleptics is because GABA_b agonists enhance sleep quality, so with GHB they can get decent quality sleep. GHB is a bad idea for someone recovering from benzos because it has this extreme glutamate rebound the next day, but baclofen doesn't have that. Its about the same as lyrica in terms of dependence, it takes about 2 months for physical dependence to take hold.

From your username I'm guessing you've tried agomelatine. Does it work? I mean as a mood enhancer/antidepressant and/or sleep aid.
