I recently gave up on a stack which included Uridine Monophosphate because it was just making me apathetic, lethargic, unmotivated and depressed. I tried all sort of dosing regimens from 50mg to 200mg both sublingually and orally, dosing in the evening and the morning, nothing worked.

I found this thread on reddit, which matches my experience perfectly: http://readditing.co...comments/2ctjmq

I also experienced difficulty getting out of bed after dosing UMP the night before, even at low doses of 50 - 100mg.

I have also noticed that if I take more than one 250mg dose of CDP Choline in a day, I start to feel unpleasant shortly after taking the second dose, which is no doubt related. That said I am now wondering if even one dose of CDP Choline could have been having subtle amotivational and depressive effects on me in the past.

Anyway - could anyone shed any light on the reason that some people react badly to Uridine?

Although it seems I am not alone in my experience, it seems that this reaction is still slightly less common that the positive experience that many people have with it.

I would obviously like to think it is just that my brain is already maximally effective at utilising uridine from dietary sources such that supplementation is counter-productive.  :) But obviously it is likely something else.

Uridine worked slightly for me, the effect wasn't even as good as green tea, but I would find once it wore off I got extremely depressed. Choline also causes me to become depressed. I have Bipolar 2, disruption of the acetylcholine pathways is implicated in Bipolar but I reckon it's just one of many faulty components.

Cytidine and Uridine Increase Striatal CDP-Choline Levels Without Decreasing Acetylcholine Synthesis or Release.
Cell Mol Neurobiol. 2006.
Department of Pharmacology and Clinical Pharmacology, Uludag University Medical School, Bursa, Turkey.

Treatments that increase acetylcholine release from brain slices decrease the synthesis of phosphatidylcholine by, and its levels in, the slices. We examined whether adding cytidine or uridine to the slice medium, which increases the utilization of choline to form phospholipids, also decreases acetylcholine levels and release. These data show that cytidine and uridine can stimulate brain phosphatide synthesis without diminishing acetylcholine synthesis or release.

So what does that mean, in regards to my actual question?

I wonder if its possible the stack has an influence on thyroid.
