I'm talking about the sweetener glucose (dextrose). On some bodybuilding forum some guy mentioned his use of 2 tablespoons to get pumped up in the gym, gives him plenty of energy. I simply just use a tablespoon of it pre-workout, it works great. I'm hesitating on using too much because I don't know how much is too much. Anyway, wouldn't the use of glucose help while using nootropics as well since the brain needs glucose? I think I feel more awake with glucose pre workout especially during deadlift. There were times when I felt dizzy when deadlifting without the use of glucose. Although I've used vasodilators before pre workout such as vinpocetine and it works great on not making me dizzy. I just wonder what are the actual benefits of glucose if any? There's people out there who fears of becoming diabetic because of it.

maltodestrine or vitargo are better but more expensive than destrose, you should take it after wo for the insuline spike (anabolic effect)

first time I've heard of those 2. Are you saying take dextrose AFTER workout as well or you're speaking of one of the 2 products you speak of? I do take dextrose pre workout, so should I use some post workout as well?

The icing dipping sauce that comes with cinnasticks from some pizza place lists maltodextrose as ingredient. Is that the same as the maltodestrine you mentioned? Also, you said to take these sugars after workout for the insulin spike (anabolic effect) but according to the article you linked, there said that insulin is lessened during a workout. So what is this "spike" you speak of? My understanding of a spike is that it is an "increase" rather than a "decrease". I guess it depends if you meant that a spike means insulin drops during a workout which is why you suggested to take the sugars post workout?

I just re-read this. My summary of it is to eat the most carbs post workout as it feeds the muscles without storing the fat. Kinda makes sense since the muscles are "hungry". But what's a good pre-workout formula? I still like and find taking glucose effective along with B12, pantothenic acid, and niacinamide.

So all those foods I eat throughout the day pretty much gets stored as fat since they weren't consumed as "post workout meals"? I do my workout at night, so I hope it's ok. I was advised to avoid carbs after 4 p.m. but my work shift is opposite. I work nights, sleep days, which is why I do my workout at night after work. Then go to sleep a few hours after a workout.

By the way seem like vitargo is a blend pre-workout formula and not exactly like dextrose. Maltodextrin is synthetic. How are they supposedly better than the natural glucose?

so pretty much load up on carbs post workout? Not so much as the popular belief of "eat more protein and build muscles and be on a low carb diet so you don't get fat"?

does "thinking" or "studying" hard mean the brain is utilizing glucose? I usually only take glucose pre-workout and post workout, at least a tablespoon each time. I'm wondering since I am on amphetamine (Vyvanse) if I should take glucose as well when I'm about to study hard. I usually don't because when I think of glucose utilization, I'm thinking I need to be doing strenuous exercise otherwise the glucose won't get utilized well and I may turn into a diabetic. So sitting around studying hard while on amphetamine, should I start using glucose and will it get utilized by the brain from all the thinking?
