I live on the seventh floor of a building of nine floors.
I know that the probability of a plane falling into my house is very low, but I'd have to relocate?

For example, being surrounded by buildings tall like mine, if I lived on the first floor, to hit my house the plane should fall at an almost impossible angle; right?

I'd be safer on the first floor? Or there would be more risks?

I didn't think planes hit buildings all that often... Is the phenomena common? Is there a statistic?

I didn't think planes hit buildings all that often... Is the phenomena common? Is there a statistic?

Odds of being on an airline flight which results in at least one fatality: (78 major world airlines) 1 in 3.4 million

so, for a plane falling into house i think you can moltiplicate for 0.001, so it's pretty unusual, but still there are some cases (there are more):

  • 2001, November 12 – American Airlines Flight 587, an Airbus A300, crashes into a Queens neighborhood in New York City when the plane's vertical tail fin snaps just after takeoff. All 251 passengers and nine crew members on board are killed as well as five people on the ground.
  • 2009, February 12 – Colgan Air Flight 3407, a Bombardier Dash 8 Q400, flying from Newark Liberty International in New Jersey to Buffalo Niagara International Airport in New York crashes into a house in Clarence, New York, killing all 49 aboard the plane and one on the ground.
  • 1992, October 4 – El Al Flight 1862, a Boeing 747, freighter, crashes into high-rise apartment buildings in Amsterdam after two of its engines detach from the wing. Forty-three people, including the plane's crew of 3, are killed.

look for keyword: "ground", and they are only the commercial flights.

By the way, why do you live close to the airport?

You have your own appartment in Milano. Live your life and don't think about stupid things.

P.S. Eventually, you may gather more money, sell your appartment, and move closer to the center. This is more logical than airplane crashes.

I would love to live near the airport if I will have anti-noise windows like yours , but I think being in a 3rd or 4th floor might be better for me.

I think that you can relocate. To be more confident. There are a lot of cheap companies presented on https://qqmoving.com/. Still I don't see a problem. My granny lives near an airport for over then 50 years on the 9th floor of a 9th floor building and there were no incidents.

The last post from the OP was in September 2014. The last post to the thread (excluding yours, RoberTST93, and now mine) was in November 2014.

I suspect that the OP, in the intervening almost 4 years since his/her last post, was either flattened by a falling airplane or has moved--thus rendering the subject moot.
