So I have had these bags at the top of the cheek bone for a few years now, and am wondering what I can do to reduce them. I have read they are due to poor lymphatic drainage, and that lymphatic massage can help, but I really would rather not do that under the dear I may stretch the supporting zygomatic ligament thus making them worse.

However, I have also read less sodium in one's diet along with alcohol avoidance can help a bit. It seems that when I do have a lot of salt in my diet they get slightly worse. So the less sodium only makes them marginally better. This is a bit of a tough one.

Is there anything else I could do to reduce these?

I've heard antihistamines could help but to be honest, I do not think I have any allergies. I mean I never show any types of outward symptoms such as sneezing, coughing, itchiness in the throat, stuffy nose, etc... Plus I did try Clariton for a month or so and didn't notice much of a difference.

Is there any member here who has them, that has found a way to reduce them at all? Maybe a supplement that encourages lymphatic drainage? I don't really know what else I could do at this point. Thanks everybody

Also, some will say a weak zygomatic ligament can contribute to this... I do have another thing I'd like to share. For years, when half smiling, my face will tremble. If I half smile, that side of the face will tremble as if it is due to a weak muscle. Also, if I squint, under my eyes will begin trembling, seems to be musclular spasms. Magnesium has not helped this at all. Could these be due to weak facial muscles or ligaments? If so would you recommend facial exercises (I am sure most would not as there is only anecdotal support for these things)  Or, at least, is there anyway to strengthen these ligaments?

(I am certainly going to try a multipronged attack here)

Hey I hear you on this one,  I hear that botox will definitely make it harder to drain that area so maybe it is a weaker muscle,  but also pay attention to sinus issues.   You are one of so many that has this issue.   SOO true that salt and alcohol cause it to be far worse,   plus lack of sleep,  dehydration,  and caffeine also contribute.   It's genetics plus lifestyle like everything else.   Lymphatic massage  (I have a massage degree)  is actually quite light and not vigorous,   so don't worry about stretching it or making it worse.   You might want to do it professionally the first time,   then do it yourself after that.  You can also see how to do lymph drainage massage on youtube I think.   Sinuses are also a big contributor to this area being swollen,  so if you are allergic to something take note of that.   Also,  sleep elevated ---  very elevated -- on your back,   try ice packs in the morning,  or tea bags which help drain the area.   People have even taped down the area!    There are many,  many contributors to this issue which plagues almost everyone,  except those that have the opposite problem in a way which is dark circles although the one doesn't exclude the other.   There is even a waay overpriced treatment called Neotensil out now for eyebags.  Not to mention actual surgery.   But it is a difficult issue to actually solve without surgery.
