Why is ADHD so hard to treat in the UK?

I don't get it.

I get diagnosed as an adult, then I'm told that the NHS won't treat adult ADHD.

So I look at a list of private specialists on AADD website, only to find there aren't any around the Midlands area (plus, people in London are reluctant to treat people from a long distance away). 

 

Seriously, our government needs to get a grip on this.
