Hi !

Since I have taken P5P 25mg for 1 month and a half in march, I experience symptoms that are not similar to the neuropathy people experience when they take too much P5P.

I have joint pains in the legs and pain at my finger phalanx. I stopped taking P5P when my jaw began to hurt I couldn't even close my mouth anymore (this has relieved since)

My teeth are weak: they seem not to hold to my gum as much as before. When i eat something hard, I have the feeling they bend.

For some times, my nails seemed to leave my nail bed and it was quite painful.

I have less hair at some parts of my scalp than before.

My eyesight is a bit more blurry.

Strange symptom : when I stomp on the ground with my feet, I have a weird sensation in my head : it feels like a metallic vibration in my head for 2 seconds after I stomp.

I have problems to think. I took P5P because I thought it made be more energized but in fact it made me more nervous.

Do you have any idea of what is wrong? Thank you.

That doesn't seem like that high of a dose since a lot of people take a 50 or 100 B complex which has 50 or whatever milligrams of most of the vitamins, including B6 although not usually the variant you took.

Were you taking it separately or as part of a combination?

Could be contaminated, or could be a reaction to the P5P. Try megamegadosing B12 in the methyl form and maybe also some B2, as riboflavin is needed for the utilization of the other B vitamins. This approach has helped a lot of us who've had problems with P5P.

What you are describing sounds potentially like lead or mercury poisoning.  I hope you can figure out the true cause and get help.

b6 and p5p need to be taken in a 1:1 ratio or the activated and nonactivated versions in your body are thrown out of balance.. take some regular b6 to offset the ration and then continue supplementing in a 1:1 ratio

Did you hear that somewhere?  Doesn't the body convert the inactive version into the active version?  WHy would there need to be a ratio?  According to you then the supplements that are only the activated versions would be wasteful.

I've read books about treating pyroluria, an inherent vit b6 defficiency, that date back to the 70s and were written by the greats (linius pauling, pfeiffer, etc).. They found that vitamin b6 is best administered in a 1:1 dose.. it prevented ALL side effects even in high doses.

The levels of active and inactive need to be balanced in the body.

This is quite interesting. I'd love a bit more info about this. I notice Pure Encapsulations uses a 1:1 ratio in their supplements; this would explain why. And does this also mean its harmful/wasteful to take a supplement that has only one regardless of dose?
