I have been reading that there is a considerable possibility that broad spectrum sunscreen can help preserve subcutaneous fat to some degree due to the fact it would help inhibit UV-induced Interleukin-11 which apparently affects pre adipocyte differentiation......Does anybody buy into this notion? Or think this is at least a way to help the fight against the loss of total body subcutaneous fat loss?

Any thoughts anybody? Also Do we have or know of any other ways to preserve subcutaneous fat? And if so, is it through an IL-11 inhibitor or something else?

First, you should try to figure out if and why sunscreen could help - did you read the full paper you are talking about? You can view it here: http://www.researchg...at_loss_in_vivo

There seems to be an observation that subcutaneous fat is lost mostly in sunexposed areas. How much is lost in unexposed areas, I don't know. I don't see why sunscreen should not help with the first.

Hmm that is interesting there.

I do hope sunscreen helps. . I wonder though, based on this here, does anybody think solar radiation would be a large cause of these genes being activated or inhibited?

Or are we underthe impression that subcutaneous fat is lost through general inflammation and such?
