redan-yadayada posted this over on Reddit, hadn't seen anyone post it here on Longecity so thought I'd throw it out there.

Here's the Study:

http://www.ncbi.nlm....les/PMC4007183/

I posted about my experiences with the herb in this post and am currently still using Polygala. While there was subtle yet noticeable mood enhancement and anxiolytic properties initially, I can't claim to "feel" it doing much these days, but as we all know, "feeling" it isn't always the point, and I've been using it consistently since April '14.

My second post in that thread contains some more studies on both Polygala and Albizzia.

Here is another good post on polygala by Bateau.

I'm currently using Plum Flower brand Polygala root extract powder, and have used Dragon Herbs' Will Power formula. Polygala was traditionally said to strengthen the will power - as a side note, I wonder if it happens to have high concentrations of 1-MeTIQ, a neuro-protective compound which apparently stimulates parts of the brain associated with satisfaction, resulting in a drop in impulsive behaviors. Pure speculation here.
