Hi,

I suffer from schizoaffective disorder and OCD and experience brain fog and difficulty concentrating.

I was considering trying nootropics such as piracetam and have some questions :

1) Can racetams exasperate schizophrenia, bipolar or OCD?

2) Can these substances cause cardiac arrhythmias? Seizures?

3) Is there an antidote that can be used in case of  "emergency"? Would magnesium help?

4) How is it that these drugs are considered neuroprotective? I always thought glutaminergic substances were neurotoxic.

5) Where can one purchase nootropics online without the danger of receiving toxic or otherwise problematic substances? On second thought, is it possible for any website to offer mind altering drugs to all  and not be problematic?

TIA and sorry about all the questions...

You should probably avoid taking any racetams, they tend to induce mania, and are fairly unpredictable. I think bacopa and ashwagandha are good for OCD, and both of these plants are relatively safe.
