Hi

I have - in my longevity/health effort - primarily focused on the free radical theory, the inflammation theory, the glycosylation theory, and hormone/enzymes "reduction" theory.

In my quest to lower my IOP, I have come across information about the importance of the mitochondria

Four aspects appear to be sentral:

1) Enhance/improve mitochondrial function

2) Protect mitochondria from oxidative damage

3) Protect mitochondria from exogenous toxin damage

4) Mitochondrial biogenesis (new mitochondria)

Supplements/actions that work on each bullet point:

1) ALA, Q10, ALC, D-ribose

2) ALA, Q10, Resveratrol, ALC

3) Ginkgo Biloba

4) Exercise, PQQ 20 mg, or better: PQQ 20 mg and 300mg Q10

How important is (i.e. how relevant for maximum longevity and least amount of diseases), in your view, this "mitochondrial theory" compared to the "theories" I have mentioned above

My 5 cent and common sense is that they are intertwined. More (and better) mitochondria - > more energy - > more production (hormones, entzymes, etc.)
