I have been suffering from severe social anxiey and generalized anxiety disorder with depression for ages. After I read about a guy who had incredible result with iboga therapy for his social phobia, i have started thinking about this opportunity. Here is his thread :

There are not many experiences with iboga related to anxiety issues such as social phobia (except for addiction related sucess stories) . so I wonder if anyone here has tried iboga with any sucess for anxiety problems ?

If you're planning on doing this, which I am not encouraging, be careful. Iboga will put you through an intense trip. You will face your worst fears all at once, and if you can't handle it you could come out of it even more anxious than before, with an additional diagnosis of PTSD from that terrifying trip. But if you can handle it, you can cure yourself permanently. It really is a gamble, just make sure you train your mind first. And make sure you're ready to face your fears in their purest and rawest form. No safety, no protection, just you and your worst fears locked in a room for 10 hours. Also make sure you have someone with you incase things go south and you become psychotic and or violent.

have you tried it B-Endorphin? your explanation could be a little exaggerated, about having to face your worst fears, etc. that wasn't my experience. i do agree with you though that it is not for everyone.

I have not tried it, no, so I'm probably exaggerating it. I just want to emphasize how powerful Iboga is, it is a powerful hallucinogen that is famous for its ability to cause ego death and it really can damage your psyche if you are not ready and trained for it. Ego death usually involves facing your fears, but that might not be the case for every person. Regardless, just want to make sure that people take this into serious consideration if they are planning on trying Iboga.

Iboga can, even at normal doses, lead to a cardiac arrest and/or transient cardiovascular impairments that lead death.

Afaik it has something to do with overstimulation of the vagus nerve.

So I would use it with a trip sitter to call the Emergency, if needed.

Recherche it on Your own, I´m a bit busy and will problalby anyway forgett to post the informations.

Do me a favor and tell this to others, I´m tired to repeat me over and over again.

What are you wanting to try it to help with? just curious...

my issues are substance-abuse related from young adulthood. stopped all drugs at around age 20 (31 now), but left with anxiety disorder, which i'm sure is drug-related, although it also runs in my family. i was on benzos and SSRI's until 2011, at which point i decided to go to Mexico to be treated with Ibogaine to see if that could help re-arrange my psyche, so to speak, to help with my anxiety and OCD/distorted thinking. I went to an Ibogaine treatment center. at that point i was only on 10mg Valium.  I was taken off the Valium cold-turkey and given Ibogaine. I had a horrible reaction to it initially. I don't want to scare you because i do see the value in this drug. it has amazing properties that can help a lot of people. i think my problem was that you can't cold turkey someone off of Valium who has been on it for 10 years, no matter what else you put in their system to counteract the withdrawal. big no no. also, i did LSD and other hallucinogens a lot in my youth which i suffered from, and the combo of Ibogaine with cold turkey valium w/d made for a bad flashback experience and psychic overload.

So, even though i was having a horrible time on the Ibogaine doses, at that point i had not yet taken a flood dose. We decided for me to just continue on and go ahead with the flood dose. A couple of days later i took the flood dose. Laid in bed for 10 or so hours and started the 'trip'. The flood dose actually wasn't too bad. Very profound experience. This drug gives you a powerful way to see things from a completely different point of view. it alters the way you process past memories. For example, if you have bad feelings towards your father and anger over past things, and you start to think about it, you may start seeing images of things from his point of view in your mind's eye, or may start to feel his pain. very strange how this drug is able to do this. but awesome. after i got home, i noticed my brain was different. i looked at the world a little differently, although that effect started to wear off over time as my withdrawal from the valium started to kick in full force. i had to reinstate on the psych meds because i was too bad off, but i've now been off of all psych meds for about a year. i still may try it again when my healing progresses a little more.

this drug can be great for some people, but if you have paranoia or mental disturbances such as that, you may want to start with micro-doses to judge its effect on you. micro-dosing can be a great tool because it just grounds you a little bit without giving you the intense heady stuff.

this drug is an NMDA receptor antagonist too i believe, so it can help with forms of anxiety. a friend of mine who micro-doses it has been helped a lot with anxiety. but it can be overwhelming if you take too much and aren't ready to handle it and also the dissociative effect.

my advice is, if you try it, start with very small micro-doses and slowly increase it. i currently have laid off from it because i decided the micro-doses aren't helping what i have. i'm considering now micro-dosing psilocybin.

hope this helps.
