A recent study published in Nature suggests dietary emulsifiers (the looked at Carboxymethylcellulose and Polysorbate 80) have negative health effects. They found it comprised the mucosal layer in mouse guts.

I thought that these kinds of emulsifiers were also used in some supplements, for example some Resveratrol and Curcumin supplements. I am looking at the ingredients of the curcumin I take and one ingredient is hydoxylated lecithin. It's low on the ingredients list.

In the case of Resveratrol I think these things are added to increase bioavailability but I wonder if the additives could be negating the positive effects of the supplements.

Something to be concerned about? Thoughts?
